I guess I should start tidying up my apartment for the potential of incoming guests

ETA: guests who may have been exposed to COVID not all that long ago

As of right now, this is no Katrina. Especially size-wise.

On the bright side, at least they aren’t hitting simultaneously on Wednesday morning.

Laura gives me Gustav PTSD for the Capital City. If there is 75mph gust that doesn’t bode well for them especially after getting inches of rain from Marco.

I hope you're not gonna be infecting the MNRT with that.

Here’s a strengthening hurricane Charley at landfall and a weakening Hurricane Irma at landfall from near the same location. These storms have the same wind speed. Look at how half of Irma is missing.

Compare landfalling Irma to when it was at peak intensity near Puerto Rico

Recent dropsonde found surface winds of 65 kts (74 mph) in the eastern eyewall of #Marco. Unsure if it's a gust or sustained, but either way #Marco is intensifying

if they're taking off from Lakeland, Fla... that's gotta be gearing up for a mission into Laura, right?

if the mean winds in both the final 500m & 150m are both 67 kts... could that imply it's a rather sustained wind?

After the 2016 flood, I worry mostly about rainfall with these storms, but as long as they're not super-slow moving or stall right offshore, I can deal with it.
