Just saw two East Baton Rouge sherriff's cars in town.
I swear nobody in this town has a concept of how a 4 way stop works.
The insurance claim on the Capital One building will be insane. That building is wrecked.

When Calcasieu Marine built it, the mofo was paid for 100% CASH before first tenant occupied it. A friend made a killing on stripping scrap leftover wire. The owners had more money than most of NOLA's wealthiest.

Disappointingly accurate

Pick up some of those yard solar lights. Buy the good ones that last all night.

Vultures are out right now for sure. I’ve had six different companies come by. They will all “represent me dealing with the insurance company” all for the low price of 5% of whatever they get out of them. All I have to do is sign a contract.

Just to let everyone know, generator theft is still a problem in the area. Some generators are being stripped out peoples driveways as far west as Vinton.
These people are the lowest of the low and deserve a quick bullet.
It would also help if our poorest people would stop buying crap out the back of trucks. But you can’t help dumb.

Have mine around the back of my house and the fire station keeps their fog lights on all night. Have my 12 gauge loaded for the second my window unit kicks off.

Mine is secured with some pretty thick chain and lock. Not many things I hate more than a thief

Times like these bring out the lowest of the low. My fence was blown away and I’m exposed to the highway street at night. It’s asking for theft, so I had to abandon the idea of having mine.

Someone will be catching a bullet if my generator kicks off at night. They won't make it too far anyway. I'm running a PTO generator on a John Deere.

A little more difficult. I just seriously don't understand people sometimes.

Just chain it to something

From Entergy:
quote:
For customers in Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes, restoring power may take longer than expected as a result of extensive damage to transmission lines serving the area. We have found damage to approximately 1,000 transmission structures, 6,600 broken poles, 338 miles of wire and nearly 3,000 transformers. Due to this damage, the transmission and distribution systems will require nearly a complete rebuild in this area. As more generation and transmission services are available in southwest Louisiana, this should help improve our ability to finalize our restoration efforts.

Can't say I'm surprised after talking with one of the utility workers this morning.
Laura certainly didn't put a dent in the mosquito or love bug populations.

I wish they’d put out a tentative date but they won’t even do that. People are in limbo.
