Yes trending to pucker your assholes if you live in New Orleans. Hope whoever in here lives in NO enjoys your elected mayor because she'll be tested in this disaster.

Got neighbors who can help with what they might need pre-storm? How many days do you have left in quarantine?

I was in BR for Betsy. Remember it like yesterday. Hit at night and you could hear the trees snapping and falling for hours.

And the blue flashes of transformers blowing.

I lived in Metairie then. Missed the police driving in our neighborhood calling residents to evacuate. Mom didn't have a car anyway. Dad was traveling and the car was parked at Moisant. He couldn't fly back and tried a train that got to Bay St. Louis and backed to Biloxi where he ended up riding it out in a radio station.

Not long after our glass patio doors blew in and Mom and I were huddled in the hallway we heard a phone. No power-but the low voltage analog phone was still working. Mom got it. Dad was calling to let us know he was okay.

Mom said we were not okay. Patio window blown in. Glass fragments lodged in den wall opposite and the New Orleans "old" bricks were seeping water inside on the terrazzo floor near the fire place.

Dad flew in the next morning and saw the flooding from the air. It spooked him. Infantry Company CO, D-Day veteran, Bocage, and so forth... and it scared him thinking Mom and I might have had flooding like that.

The back of our shed looked like a stegosaurus with all the old school slate shingles sticking out of it. The ones I couldn't pick out I broke off and puttied and painted over. I always figured it was slate shingles or some other flying debris that blew out the glass patio doors. Almost like yesterday it seems.
