15% of the vote, for a criminal incumbent Mayor with nothing but disasters and fails on her record in her first term is a pretty damn convincing victory, or "landslide" under the circumstances. I bet she wins with a significantly larger margin of victory than the first time she ran. I bet she wins by a 20% vote margin or slightly larger. Bank on it.

I don't think she'll win in a landslide. Wouldnt even be surprised if she lost
HOWEVER,...
your above statement is accurate.
And as a former New Orleans resident who escaped to the burbs, it is "mentally challenged," thank you very much.

The minimum wage people will not get Toya re-elected this time.
There will be no support from the business community.
Crime will be a big topic and she will lose. Jason Williams makes it much worse.
The gays, white guilt hipsters and black voter base loves her for how she's sticking it to "whitey" during COVID.
They think COVID is all because white people have a few drinks at a bar and don't wear their masks.
Trial lawyers will 100% support her and they are in the top two most powerful lobbies in the state... and in case you haven't noticed, there are a shite ton of them in NOLA.
Crime has been bad in New Orleans for decades. It's just a way of life there. The only people complaining about it will be moderate or conservative white people. Everyone else thinks the crime only exists because "white people are racist," and "privileged" and deny opportunity to the black community.
No black voices will be out front and loudly criticizing her. So, it will only be white people publicly decrying her. I already know from experience with the many black people in NOLA I know, they think any white person who is critical of her is just critical of her because they are racist. This is the opinion expressed by many highly educated blacks in New Orleans I know. I don't see a one of them the least bit critical of her. They think she is knocking it out of the park with her COVID restrictions.
So, yes. Unless another big name black power player jumps in the Mayoral race, she will win re-election "in a motherfricking landslide."

And that is what people on here truly do not understand.
Black people honestly believe she is killing it.

That's a very broad generalization. Lots of black people think she is fricking up.

True. I have no idea how the percentages bear out, but there are definitely black business owners and employees of hurting industries that are pissed at her.
At the end of the day, she will use the race card re:COVID and it may work. It definitely will work if her opponent is white (sit this one out, Sydney IV).
The opponent makes a huge difference. I actually kind of like Duplessis, which means he probably doesnt have a snowball's chance getting elected in NOLA.
Although, I was right about Nagin Version 1.0 back in the early 2000s, so you never know I guess.

Really? I have yet to meet any. And believe it or not, I personally know many in New Orleans, a number of them very politically connected too.

Sure, many black businesses are hurting because of her... but they think they're hurting because white people won't wear their masks and Teedy is doing what she has to do to address the COVID situation. I have seen countless times, black and white business owners that are being smothered to death by Teedy, thanking her for keeping us safe and crying about all those (white) people who supposedly exist in NOLA that refuse to wear their masks and blaming them for the shutdowns, not Teedy or John Bel.
She will 100% play the race card. That's her bread and butter, which also ties into her justification for her COVID restrictions.
I agree, it's all about an opponent. Unless a big name black power player in NOLA jumps into the race, she wins. Convincingly. In a "landslide."
Duplessis is a good guy with a seemingly bright political future but I would be shocked if he jumps in this go-around considering the possibility of a loss this early in his political career and given the absolute state of disaster NOLA is in right now.

Didn't Sidney push to get her elected?
I don't ever see him running anyway. Why would he want the hassle.

None of my coworkers like her or support what she is doing. They don't have a favorite they would support instead though.
Black neighbors aren't fans of hers, nor the extremely liberal gay couple on my street.
Honestly, haven't heard anyone unilaterally defend her in person. Maybe something here or there will get someone to support it.

I’d say it’s mixed, but wouldn’t be surprised if they got popped with a Tulane party. Seems to be the theme and more bars are going to a 21+ crowd to make sure they don’t get caught.

Some of the most left woke white people I know in the city can’t stand Latoilet.
No way it’s a landslide if they even put someone halfway decent against her.
People are tired of her shite and want something new and fresh.

I know a few people who work for the city who voted for Latoya simply because they thought Charbonnet was going to fire them all and replace with her people. Most all that I’ve talked to said they have no plan to vote for her. I think it’s a good sign that power players haven’t pushed a candidate yet. A strong candidate needs to be pushed around the church circuit to help get the preachers in their pocket and then hopefully just split the liberal white guilt /transplant vote.

I sm mot sure any of the altrrnatives are better. Des Charbonnet is probably acceptable but she is making serious bank in the private sector today.
Y'all laugh, but Ray Nagin would be prefferable..... even from jail.

Oh boy, she is gonna be in a bind when the restrictions end eventually.
The fact that no one will care what she thinks or does after that is gonna be a tough pill for her to swallow

NO. not at all. Anyone running against her will also be a Democrat.
She is absolutely harming the trial lawyer business big time. The less people going to work and school and out to drink the less accidents chief.
