I turned the radio on 870am on my way home from work today and as this lady was talking, I was wondering how a caller so dumb was able to make it though the screening to get on air. Then they said “thanks, Mayor.”

St Bernard Parish President said the same thing though. They would call for a mandatory, but lack the resources required to do so.

What resources do you need? Just call it.

Now you may not have the resources to enforce it, but you can call it and at least say you tried.

To be fair, that’s not what she said. She said that the governor informed her that contraflow could not be implemented due to time constraints and if contraflow can’t be activated, she can’t order a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans.

What makes you think he wouldn’t send help?

People act like he is giving away the world, but now he won’t give anything? Come on.

You're thinking Ivan the year before.

There should be a plan in place to put contraflow in effect within hours. No excuse that isn't already in place.

I saw three police cars in a school zone this morning with a speed gun trying to write tickets.

Not having resources in the face of a potential emergency seems relative.

After thinking about that statement I am guessing that since Katrina there have been standards placed on calling for a mandatory evac. Like the Parish/City has to have a certain amount of resources on hand, and 15 years on municipalities have become complacent.

Basically St Bernard or Orleans call for an evac and it puts them in place to provide buses or resources that they dont have and can't get

To be fair, what’s the worst that could happen? Amy historical evidence of something bad that can happen? I think not.

I 100% agree. But that’s JBE’s court. Not the mayor of NO.

You could tell in the conference she wanted to declare evacuation but it would be a mistake to attempt it without the support of contraflow.

so Latoya's mindset is ...

- No I.D.?... by all means we WELCOME you to vote, but PLEASE send in those PlanDEMic ballots as well!

- No test or vaccine papers for a virus with a 99+% survival rate?... then you WILL NOT be allowed access into my city!

- We're being told that we only have 72 hours to evacuate for a catastrophic storm? ... that's simply NOT enough time to do anything.

Houston has this very thing in place…and it has been in place since Hurricane Alicia hit in 1983.

Get with the fricking program, NOLA.

This boils down to piss poor leadership, no matter how you slice it.

If you rely on this dumb bitch Latoya in making your decision on what to do in any circumstance, you deserve what happens to you.

NOLA could establish contraflow in a matter of minutes. JP would have issues....

Which sort of highlights why it is a problem.

People who do not feel comfortable staying and have the means will leave.

Her voters who do not have the means will have to stay.

Seems fair to me.

No time left to call for mandatory evacuation but still plenty of time to get the Jab before you evacuate as per our great governor. Remember never let a good crisis go to waste!

Teedy said I could park on the neutral ground or sidewalk starting tomorrow morning. So yeah...I’m doing that. Thanks queen.
