I don’t think there will be a parade but a lot of people will show up & congregate. What happens after, who knows

I’m head down there to check things out. Should be fun to watch NOPD and NOFD try to keep everyone out the streets

Did they get a permit for the super bowl last year?

The Fulton Street concert/block party?

But the Mayor’s Masked Ball, a fundraiser for local colleges, will go as scheduled. Grandstanding for national headlines ? Just like Mardi Gras, overkill!

Where’s her ball being held? Should get a bunch of baws dressed in green to march in the street, drink Guiness, and throw a parade and party right outside her ball

UPDATE: City Of NOLA spokesperson says mayor Cantrell ‘Masked Ball’ is a “private event” in partnership with UNCF and is not the same as public events like Super Sunday, Wednesday’s At The Square & Irish Channel Parade - which have been cancelled.

Thank you Mayor for clearing up the confusion here. Did Can’t-rell also make the Parent-Teacher decision too?

Don't worry, coronavirus doesn't have a membership card and this party is members only.

So no public money is being used to throw this event? We know Destroya can’t afford to pay for this. Who’s paying for this?

If I know New Orleans I guarantee people will still be out there on Saturday, block party or not.

I assume it is not the same, because no people will attend? Or invitees to private events have no chance of infection?

The Masked Ball is NOT a private event. Anyone can buy tickets and go to it.

Probably the UNCF cartel. They throw these all around the country.
