Most restaurants in JP aren’t open late besides fast food so this would really just effect them on the weekends when open a little later

No shot this gets enforced for any place other than bars. It will be the honor system for restaurants.

With most people staying home and no tourists out and about, this is the perfect time to take the Hard Rock down and get those bodies out of there.

So you have no info. Cool.

I don't have any info, either but I think we can see where this is heading.

Absent some good data about how prevalent the virus is and its effects, all of the communities are going to eventually have to make a unified choice. Having City A on full lockdown while City B right next door is wide open makes no sense.

Right now, they're all going to eventually veer towards the City A model. If data comes out that we've really been dealing with this shite since Christmas, that equation will probably change.

Why the random times?

I understand limiting capacity but why limit the times people can eat?

With a limited capacity wouldn’t they want to be open longer to feed more people?

And what are businesses supposed to do about loiterers? Beat them?

The government is now forcing all restaurants to develop a text message system?

I hate the inconsistency and randomness of these measures. Authoritarian power grab. We should push back against this overreach without more meaning and information behind it.

See how easy it is to take over every segment of society?
Out of an abundance of caution of course.

It's scary how many on here are just fine with this and cheering it on.

I’m really sorry about the elderly and immunocomped people in this society but I absolutely refuse to sacrifice my freedom for security.

We live in a free society. Stay home and quarantine if you want or go out and risk it but I’ll be damned if I support this gross government overreach in any way.

This is going to absolutely cripple bars and restaurants and anyone who works in the service industry, and the leave act their trying to jam through Congress will bankrupt small businesses. The forced school closures is going to skyrocket crime and rip apart lower class families.

The economic fallout from the reaction to this disease is going to dwarf the actual consequences of the virus itself.

And every post and website I read supporting all of these mandatory measures is sickening. Did no one ever take a basic political science and history class? This never ends well.

You better believe Big Government is making a note of all this.

I knew the whole "Give me freedom or give me death" bit around here was mostly bullshite but even I am pretty surprised at how much support this has gotten here...a place which skews not only right but fairly hard to the right.

Very few people are so much as saying "Maybe we should at least pump the brakes a bit!"

Most people here love big government, they just want "their" version of it.

I’m screaming it from the rooftops.

The government reaction and the civilian support for it is terrifying.
