Well Igor, basing your relationships with others on fear and threats will always fail.
Now, moving forward, stay away from windows. At this point, Putin no longer cares about kompromat on MH17.

Um... wait. Isn't the Ukraine front in the opposite direction? Is this how the Heroes of the Russian People start their big offensive...? I mean, that's what we're being told, right...?
Oh... wait.

More on the 21st Century Potato Famine -
Maybe the North Koreans can send some of their potatoes. They're famous for their potatoes and their huge food surpluses.
Just whatever you do, don't tell the Russian public where vodka comes from...

“Yesterday [Monday], I met with representatives from various business sectors, including agriculture. It turns out that we don’t have enough potatoes,” Putin said during a televised meeting.
“I spoke with [Belarusian President] Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. He said, ‘We’ve already sold everything to Russia’.”![]()
The previous day, Lukashenko’s press office joked that Belarus had already planted additional potatoes.
Belarusians have reportedly been complaining for months about the poor quality and limited supply of potatoes in stores. In April, authorities in Minsk allowed for price hikes on potatoes, cabbage and onions. By early May, Lukashenko admitted that potato shortages were becoming a problem.
Meanwhile in Russia, potato prices have soared. According to state statistics agency Rosstat, retail prices rose 92% last year. By May 2025, year-over-year prices had climbed by 166.5% — making potatoes the fastest-rising food item in the country and setting a record for the highest annual increase since the start of recorded statistics in 2002.
Russia has also become the world’s most expensive market for wholesale potatoes. According to the agricultural analytics firm AB-Center, wholesale prices jumped 285.5% year-over-year by early April, rising from 11.4 rubles ($0.14) to 42.4 rubles ($0.53) per kilogram (excluding VAT). By comparison, the global average stands at about 17 euro cents (roughly 15.5 rubles) per kilogram.

In either scenario, I would suggest there is a strong likelihood of war, unless in the case of Russia losing and being greeted not as complete villains but potential future partners for peace. That is the key difference between WWI and now. We don't have to be necessarily vindictive in how we approach Russian reintegration or Ukrainian rebuilding. Within a decade of the end of WWII, the first Treaty of Paris was signed between two former Axis powers and countries they fought in a war, which set the stage for what became the EU. If we can repeat that lesson between Russia and Ukraine, we can most definitely prevent another war.
I don't know, there is really nothing to suggest that we will be open to integrating Russia in any meaningful way post-war no matter what they do (and historically a lot of that is their own doing as well, it isn't just us being "mean" to them). Trump is probably the most likely President to do that, but realistically unless the trajectory of his administration changes we are going to get someone further to the left of Biden when the pendulum swings back in 2028, and who knows what the state of the conflict will be by then if it hasn't been "resolved". If there was a time to try to integrate and influence Russia, it is before the power vacuum that Putin's exit will create.
I also believe we might both be half right in that no matter which road we go down there is a broader conflict toward the middle of the century coming.

Despite Kremlin claims, 82% of Russian-speaking Ukrainians view Russia negatively, poll shows
No doubt they prefer to be aligned and in business with Europe.
The poll was done on people in areas that Ukraine controls. They are getting hit with rockets, their relatives are getting sent to the front and dying because of Russia. Of course they view them negatively
And even if you take the conflict piece out of it, preferring to be in business with Europe is kind of obvious. Lets see, would I rather do business with the most powerful and influential economic conglomerate in the world, or a country that produces more expensive but also somehow worse consumer products than China?

It is funny, who’d believe that Ukrainians would be upset and mad at their invaders and those bombing their homes, stores, schools and killing hundreds of civilians.
Obvious propaganda.

Its propaganda because its an obvious point in a skewed survey. Its like asking people in Philadelphia who they like more, the Eagles or Cowboys, and expecting to learn anything from it.

Does every single comment have to cover every single thing currently going on? I didn't know I was expected to give a full breakdown of the current happenings every single time I posted, my mistake.
Crazy that you expect so much from me, but you still won't give me a yes or no answer to a question from months ago.

It is an obvious result, but why would you think the survey is skewed?
Because it doesn't include the people that Russia is disputing want to be part of Russia?
Its kind of an obvious statistical method that you want a varied, "random" population to get any kind of meaningful results.
In this case, meaningful results aren't achievable because of conditions.
The people who did the survey know that. They weren't expecting any different answer than the one they got. So why do it at all? So you can say you did a survey and write stories about the results that support your point.

No, they didn’t attempt to survey Ukes behind the battle lines, but they reported that.
So you are correct, they didn’t survey the entire country, but they were open about it.
