Not aware of that, but oil is a global market and that would have at least more than replaced the volume attributed to US consumption from Russia. Assuming competent leadership the volume from Russia could have been replaced by ramping up domestic production or sourcing from more friendly producers. Help in the current environment remains the same either way.

Either way, more than we're currently importing from Russia if the figures in this thread are accurate.
If KXL were still a 'go' we'd have to continue importing that Russian 6-8% for another 9 months at the minimum, but we'd at least have a hardline stopping point. Now we're having to cozy up to Venezuela to supplement Russia if we decide to grow some balls and cut them off entirely.
It's a case of "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" when we could be fazing the dictatorships out entirely soon.

No that is not accurate. But there must be some wacko conspiracy theorists out there spewing this bc some are saying that the KXL was going to only pipe oil to one “ Saudi owned refinery” in Texas then all the refined products would head overseas. Umm dumb and false. It would have transported heavy Canadian Crude, mixed with some Bakken crude to multiple refineries in SE Texas since these refineries are setup to process those crudes.

I'll try but it's a complicated deal. Heck, I just learned 1 barrel of crude is 42 gallons

Before we deployed to Iraq, no one asked me if I wanted the anthrax vaccine. They said show up at TMC at 06, and we showed up and got the vaccine.

It’s essentially a shortcut with pick up point for Bakken addition the meets up with Keystone phase 2 in Nebraska.
