Point being, similar secondary explosions do not appear uncommon and all we know at this point is that something went boom without more evidence that the secondary explosions were cluster munitions, such as debris. If anything, the similar explosion reportedly at the same location over a year ago would suggest it wasn't cluster munitions.

You asked why one would think it was a cluster bombs from looking at the video. So I looked at the video and it’s pretty obvious why one would think that. I have no idea if it real or not and I don’t think it really matters one way or the other.

It’s pure speculation but there’s got to be a reason we haven’t provided them. I think it’s completely reasonable that our people are talking to their people about what they consider to be a redline.

Key Takeaways:

Ukrainian forces continued counteroffensive operations on at least three sectors of the front on July 22.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian counteroffensive operations may soon increase in tempo and that the delay in counteroffensive operations was in part due to limited materiel.

Ukrainian officials stated on July 22 that Ukraine’s interdiction campaign against Russian military targets in rear areas is successfully degrading Russian logistics and counterbattery capabilities, likely contributing to an asymmetrical attrition gradient in Ukraine’s favor.

Ukrainian forces struck a Russian oil depot and ammunition depot in Crimea as part of this Ukrainian pressure campaign.

Russian strikes against Ukrainian shipping and agricultural infrastructure in southern Ukraine may be subsiding or entering a temporary lull.

Further details about former Russian officer and ardent nationalist Igor Girkin’s arrest for extremism continue to suggest a shifting balance of power among Kremlin factions and a notable factionalism within the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), in which Girkin had served.

Girkin’s affiliates have launched a public effort to cast Girkin as an embattled figure in opposition to Russian leadership.

Girkin’s arrest has not generated widespread outrage in the Russian ultranationalist community as some previous cases have, suggesting an increasing fragmentation within the information space.

Girkin’s arrest is likely not an indicator of a wider effort to censor the Russian ultranationalist community, but rather an attempt to excise a specific segment of the community that is vocally hostile to the Kremlin.

Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line and in the Bakhmut area but did not make gains.

Russian forces conducted offensive operations in the Kupyansk and Bakhmut areas and along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line and made claimed advances in the Kupyansk area.

Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations along the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia Oblast border area and in western Zaporizhia Oblast but did not make advances.

Russian forces conducted offensive operations along the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia Oblast border area but did not make any confirmed or claimed advances.

Prominent Russian Federation Council members opposed a bill aimed at increasing the upper age limit for the conscription age while maintaining the lower limit of 18.

Russian occupation authorities continue to relocate Ukrainian children in occupied Ukraine to Russia.

The Wagner Group’s footprint in Belarus is likely expanding.

Your wording suggested it must be cluster munitions without offering anything beyond it looking like submunition explosions, hence why I linked several other similar ones that indicate it isn't necessarily indicative, if I misinterpreted then my apologies.

In honesty I don't know with certainty either way nor think it really matters beyond optics, however I also don't like poor value information as it contributes nothing beyond being used to incite polarisation within the thread - which is generally its intent.

The account linked for the original video is a common example - created shortly before or since the conflict started, takes either a very strong pro Ukrainian or Russian stance, and churns the latest talking points on a regular basis.

It seems this video would sum up the general feeling about either side in the war right now.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 23 July 2023

In recent days, there has been an increase in artillery fire along the north of the front line, in Luhansk and Kharkiv oblasts. This has likely been accompanied by some increase in Russian small-unit assaults, but the situation has been obfuscated by Russian disinformation.

Russia has likely only achieved marginal gains, but its renewed activity in the north highlights its importance to the Kremlin, when it is concurrently facing significant pressure in the southern Zaporizhzhia sector.

Russia's Western Group of Forces is likely trying to advance back to the Oskil River in order to create a buffer zone around Luhansk Oblast, the possession of which Russia almost certainly considers one of its fundamental objectives of the war.

Ukrainians are accusing Russia of striking The Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa. This is completely false and another desperate attempt by them to hide their failure. Read this short thread

Ukrainian propaganda is claiming a Russian missile hit it. It is true that there was an air attack in Odessa. However the Russians didn't attack the Church as Ukrainians are claiming: t.me/uniannet/105767. Their Air defense failed and hit the place as it did many times before.

There's more but not going to post the whole thread

The army of the russian federation shelled Chasiv Yar with cluster munitions, –– reported the head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration Pavlo Kyrylenko.

As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in the Palace of Culture, where humanitarian and medical aid was provided. The building of the institution burned down, there were no casualties or injuries.

It makes sense. There’s a reason we haven’t given ATACMS to Ukraine yet and it’s because for whatever reason we don’t want them hitting the Russian homeland with our donated weapons.

Meh

I think he has a valid point (GeauxxxxTigers)

But Colt posted the video and that person I'm 99% sure is Russian troll because they only post pro Russian views in this thread (nothing else on the whole site) and only started an account after the war started.
