So the money is accounted for? The government knows exactly what my big purchases are - it's required for me to pay my taxes so I can fund a war. Why can't we ask the government to be held to the same standards?
Did you see the Royals Royce that Ukraine official recently bought?

Maybe - maybe it will sink in after your analogy - Putin only wanted the Eastern region and a land bridge to Crimea?
It is time for Biden and the Warmongers to let peace talks begin. Enough people on both sides have died. right?

I agree, the government should be accountable.
Let me ask you this question, if there was complete transparency as to where the equipment us going and where the aid was going would it make any difference to you? Would you get behind Ukraine in their efforts to get Russia out of Ukraine?

The initial actions of the war (attack on all fronts) and other sources (notably ISW) still hold Putin has maximalist intentions in Ukraine, as in a complete takeover, whether this meant a “decapitate Kiev and replace with a puppet” or full integration.
Putin said otherwise following withdrawal from the Kiev front, but he’s not exactly a neutral source - after all this was just a few months after he claimed the troop buildup on the Ukraine border was just a training exercise.

Putin only wanted a land bridge and Biden agreed to it before the invasion.
If you down vote this comment, you want total thermal nuclear war.
Let the warmongers comment and vote.

Correct. Ghost of Freedom started a thread last night just to try to get politards to come here and ruin this one.
He mentioned it again in another thread tonight and said he was trolling this one.
I say delete his BS so we can keep getting war updates and not the low IQ trolling

It was a relatively warm winter with less snow that usual, and the weather this month has been much drier than normal, so the mud is not as bad now as it was last year.
But there is a cold front coming through Monday and Tuesday that will bring some rain, though, especially in the north. The Kreminna area will then get even more rain later in the week, but the south won't get much rain at all.
On Twitter, I recommend following former USAF meteorologist David Helms to get regular forecasts of how weather will impact the war.
I watched WeatherBell Saturday summary with Joe Bastardi, looks like western Ukraine has been much like the rest of Europe but eastern warmer than normal. Above average rainfall into the first week in April

Let me quell the nerves of some of you peace niks, and mfers worried about thermal nuclear war.
First of all, there are a lot worse ways to die than being vaporized in a millisecond. About as quick and painless as possible.
Second, both sides know there will never be a thermal nuclear war, it isn’t allowed by “others” and they have already proven that they can shoot down any missile and take over any missile system or installation. Plus if one side started it, they might just eliminate every single human that aligns with them, or any evidence they even ever existed. Russia can be a great big ocean…again. So grow a pair man

We all know that drones are changing so much. For example, there was the video last week of a Ukrainian unit killing 10 tanks in one night with a heavy drone dropping ordinance. A couple nights ago, there were explosions in Sevastopol harbor from Ukrainian naval drones. So many of Russia's kills on Ukrainian equipment come from their Lancet drones.
There are two new articles on drones that I think are of great interest. First, this story from Reuters looks at the Ukrainian drone industry:

Inside Ukraine’s scramble for “game-changer” drone fleet
KYIV, March 24 (Reuters) - At an unassuming industrial estate in northern Ukraine, two former Microsoft executives and a team of engineers are producing military drones that can travel over long distances and carry large payloads.
AeroDrone, which made crop-dusting drones prior to the war and now supplies Ukraine’s armed forces, makes unmanned aircraft that can carry up to 300 kilograms or fly up to several thousand kilometres in certain configurations.

The government is now working with more than 80 Ukraine-based drone manufacturers, Ukraine's Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov told Reuters. He said Kyiv needs hundreds of thousands of drones, many of which it is looking to source from a rapidly-expanding domestic industry. Currently, the military operates dozens of models of domestic and foreign drones that fulfil a “wide spectrum” of roles, Reznikov said, in written responses to questions.
quote:
"It is not worth expecting parity in the near future,” Reznikov said on closing the armament gap. He added: “Russia is also working on improving its UAVs."
quote:
For cash-strapped Ukraine, whose economy has been decimated by the war and whose government is now reliant on international financing, drones represent a relatively inexpensive way to fight back against Russia's vast military. Ukraine has said it will spend nearly $550 million on drones in 2023 and has set up drone assault units within its armed forces.
quote:
One area of focus is on developing airborne drones that can travel longer distances, said Reznikov. Kyiv has been seeking longer-range missiles from allies that could hit targets several hundred kilometres away, but has so far been rebuffed.
AeroDrone says one of its models, called Enterprise and based on the frame of a light aircraft, can fly over 3,000 kilometres in certain circumstances. [pictured above]
The company is run by Dmytro Shymkiv and Yuriy Pederiy, who met while working at Microsoft’s Kyiv offices, where Shymkiv rose to be country manager and Pederiy was responsible for a major department.
They said their military contracts strictly limit what the company can disclose, but they said the Enterprise and another model called Discovery can be used for a wide variety of tactical purposes thanks to payloads of 300 kilograms and 80 kilograms, respectively. One of the company’s aircraft can cost between $150,000 to $450,000 depending on the model and configuration, which can include features such as an anti-jamming system to counteract Russian signal interference.

The next article is in Forbes, and it references a viral Russian post from a few days ago?
quote:
Posts by a blogger using the handle Russian Engineer usually get a few thousand views, but one of his latest entries has now been seen 1.9 million times. Ukrainian military and political observer Alexei Arestovich says they are preparing a drone offensive, and in January Ukrainian General Command announced the formation of new tactical drone assault units. Russian Engineer has put these together with information from other sources to predict an onslaught of miniature attack drones.
“Recently, it has become known that, in terms of drones, buyers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have bought up almost the entire market of FPV drone components in China, according to indirect estimates, by 50-100 thousand units. They have already trained more than a thousand operators of these models. They make them into kamikaze with a shaped charge warhead from RPG, RPG-7, or with a fragmentation grenade. And they have accumulated all this before the offensive.”
quote:
Racing drones, also known as FPV or First Person View drones, are smaller than standard quadcopters but have powerful motors giving speeds of 120 mph or more. They lack the sophisticated electronics for steady hover and smooth flight for good camerawork. Instead they are designed for high-speed, seat-of-the-pants flying around demanding courses, piloted using video goggles. Drone racing is a popular sport in many countries.
The powerful motors mean that, at some loss of speed and endurance, an FPV drone can carry a heavy payload, including an anti-tank RPG warhead or RKG-3 grenade, though it may need extra batteries. While this arrangement may not look airworthy, FPV drones are lethally effective weapons.
quote:
The key point about the FPV attack drones is that, compared to other guided weapons and loitering munitions, they are cheap and easily available. In a previous blog post, Russian Engineer listed the components needed to assemble an FPV attack drone, with a total cost of $355, or $421 with digital communications rather than analog. Others quote similar prices in the range of hundreds of dollars depending on the exact specification – notably less than the $2,000+ price tag for a Mavic 3 Pro quadcopter.
quote:
While there are certainly hundreds or even thousands of FPV attack drones in play, 50,000 would mean attacks on an unprecedented scale. As Russian Engineer notes, the need for one operator per drone, and the fact that there are only so many control channels available, means that there would only be a few drones per kilometer of front at a time – but waves of them could keep coming until they destroyed every target.
Russian Engineer ponders how to counter the kamikazes. Radio jamming is the obvious methods, but this has so far not been effective against FPV drones.
quote:
Russian Engineer also talks about the value of camouflage and protective bunkers, and the limited range of the FPV drones – he suggests 5 kilometers – which means that equipment pulled back far enough from the front line should be safe. In a follow-up post this morning Russian Engineer mentions that he has received a number of suggestions which he will be passing on to the military.
quote:
Whether or not the mass attack envisaged by Russian Engineer materializes, one thing is clear. A lot more Russians are going to be targeted by ‘toy’ drones packed with explosives in the coming months.

From @wartranslated,

quote:
While Ukraine is rapidly ramping up its drone program, Russians are worried their capabilities are limited to the work of amateurs. Anastasiya Kashevarova (Rus. volunteer) says Ukraine has 1 million drones of all kinds, and Russia is severely behind, but nothing is being done to alleviate the situation from the government side.

The US has been working on drone swarms which interact with each other an perform missions, for several years now. Likely Israel has been working on something similar.
If there is one thing that Ukraine has shown to be adept at it is software development and drone use. Possibly marrying the two would be a force multiplier on the front.
