This suggests an overall return to a more defensive operational design after inconclusive results from its attempts to conduct a general offensive since January 2023.

The Russian propaganda machine went all in on the winter offensive and there was essentially no tangible movement at all. If winter was actually the big Russian push, that makes me feel much better about spring.

I’ve yet to see any of these war mongering jackasses give one valid reason for giving billions to Ukraine. frick em, and frick Russia too. Not our problem.

So you want Russia to attack a NATO country and our boots on the ground? BTW, it costs real money rather than accounting procedure "money" to dispose of the old weapons we will never use again.

Which ones?

Its our proxy war.

quote:

The war in Ukraine isn’t just a conflict between Moscow and Kyiv, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently declared. It is a “proxy war” in which the world’s most powerful military alliance, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is using Ukraine as a battering ram against the Russian state.

Lavrov is one of the most reliable mouthpieces for President Vladimir Putin’s baseless propaganda, but in this case he’s not wrong. Russia is the target of one of the most ruthlessly effectively proxy wars in modern history. And the less U.S. officials say about it, the better.

Who is saying it's not a proxy war?

At least we aren't sending piloted fighter jets into Ukraine like Russia did in the Korean War or our soldiers to man air defense like Russia did in Vietnam

On a side note gotta love how we are die hard libs everything the PT decides to come vomit in this thread demanding we go fight because we talk about what is happening in the war

Eta:clarification

You can always tell when the war is going poorly for Russia due to the bleed over from the PT to this thread.

Cope is strong with that crowd.

One of the best-known Americans on the battlefield is James Vasquez. Days after the invasion, Mr. Vasquez, a Connecticut home-improvement contractor, announced that he was leaving for Ukraine. His local newspaper told the tale of a former U.S. Army staff sergeant who left behind his job and family and picked up a rifle and a rucksack on the front line.

Since then, he has posted battlefield videos online, at least once broadcasting his unit’s precise location to everyone, including the opposing side. He used his story to solicit donations. “I was in Kuwait during Desert Storm, and I was in Iraq after 9/11,” Mr. Vasquez said in a fund-raising video. He added, “This is a whole different animal.”

Mr. Vasquez, in fact, was never deployed to Kuwait, Iraq or anywhere else, a Pentagon spokeswoman said. He specialized in fuel and electrical repairs. And he left the Army Reserve not as a sergeant as he claimed, but as a private first class, one of the Army’s lowest ranks.

quote:Mr. Vasquez said he had been misrepresenting his military record for decades. He acknowledged being kicked out of the Army but would not talk publicly about why. “I had to tell a million lies to get ahead,” Mr. Vasquez said in an interview. “I didn’t realize it was going to come to this.”

Could you actually point out where someone said it wasn't? Because every time this is brought up the response I've seen has been "well yeah"

This page from March 2023

It's a proxy war, except this time Russia isn't using a proxy.

different page from same time

No one is arguing this isn’t a proxy war on the US side. We have fought proxy wars with Russia since the end of WW2.

Well according to one thread it fell last week, but otherwise it's been supposed to fall within 72 hours for at least 2 months

Warning lights were everywhere for me shortly after following him on Tweeter. I've seen that type in a lot more than just stolen valor, but in business and private organizations. Hell, some do it for 15 minutes of fame, some for power, some for money.

Still, you warmongers don’t provide any valid reasoning for the US government sending billions of our tax dollars to Ukraine. Meanwhile, average Americans are drowning from inflation caused by the world committing economic suicide over Covid and the shite economic policies of the current administration.

You don't have to dig far, chief.

This is devolved into a Western Front style war and they're running out of Ukranian bodies.

Awful nice of us, eh?

In a few months, Ukraine will have to have more bodies to keep the war rolling.
