The design of it began in 1989

Oof, even I understand that.

No it didn’t. Stop trying to pass it off as some old shite that we’re just getting rid of because it’s old and we don’t use it anymore. It’s not even close to true. It’s one of the most sophisticated weapons the US military employs. The Marines are restructuring a large portion of their force around it and started doing so just 4 or 5 years ago.

Are you scared of the Ukrainian biolabs producing superhuman, LGBTQ, Jewish Nazi soldiers?

Nah. I’ve been to war and this isn’t what our country needs to be involved in. If you’re so tough, get off the keyboard and go finish them off. You tax wasting, death loving, scum sucker.

You are nuts, but at least you aren’t as bad as some of the loons who think there isn’t even a war going on over there.

I’m nuts because I don’t want tax money spent or involvement in this? Okay

US KIAs.
Outside of that I personally think the juice is worth the squeeze. YMMV

I honestly do not think so unless Russia is brazen enough to openly attack a NATO country. I do not think that is likely given their struggles in Ukraine.

When will Ukraine attack Russia? So far it’s one country getting demolished.

I won't call you nuts for that, it is a position that I understand and respect. I don't agree with it, which is ok. You don't agree with my position on the war, and that's okay too.

Their struggles are greatly exaggerated by western media. But, you’re correct they won’t attack a NATO country. I’m of the opinion it won’t matter, because our politicians have foolishly placed the entirety of US influence on the results in Ukraine.
We can not be seen to have lost.

They are fully engaged on their own soil, strategically that would make little sense at present.
Further more outside of partisan actions, the occasional attack like the Kerch Strait bridge and a couple of airfields without air superiority putting steel on target inside Russia is difficult and requires poor allocation of assets. Hitting anything besides a few very strategic targets on Russian soil could be very counter-productive vis a vis the Russian public sentiment.

I think this statement is a source of misunderstanding in debates about Ukraine. No one that follows the war closely, like many in this thread, pays much attention to, or bases their opinions on, what the western media is saying. They have proven to be myoptic, biased, stupid and outright liars.
Opinions around the struggles of the Russian army are formed from consuming the vast amount of social media, Ukrainian and Russian, flowing from this war. By reading and watching this vast flow of information, one can begin to pick out an understanding, nowhere close to complete, of what is really going on.
Russia is struggling way more than they should have. Decades of graft and corruption in their military, has gutted what was once the 2nd most powerful military on the planet. They have suffered major losses and will continue to do so because they can't do anything to stop it. ETA: Well they could pull out of Ukraine, that would stop it.

Not really. It was that same western media that convinced you Russia had the second most powerful military on the planet. Russia has been performing exactly as they always have in military conflicts. Slow, methodical, and playing a numbers game.

I will defer on what the Western media is saying since I don't pay much if any attention to it in regard to this war. I pay far closer attention to the pundits on Russian state TV (ie Russia 1) like Solovyov, Skabeyeva, Popov, and Simonyan. They consistently talk about how poor Russia is doing and they are the Kremlin's mouthpieces especially Vlad, Olga, and Margarita.

I don't really consider Janes, Lowy Institute, or Global Firepower to be media but you may. In any case the "rankings" share a lot of similarities to pre-season football polls. It is predicated on past performance and talent at each position et al. The talent in the military ranking is primarily based on numbers. Russia has a lot of big numbers but they are showing they don't really understand how to use many of their assets to their potential. Also, a lot of their assets have proven to be less capable than one would expect.

Slow and methodical is the exact opposite of how they started this conflict and frankly a big part of their problems. Their high level of initial aggression is what woke up the West to their significant detriment.
