Lots of countries in South America and Africa are not united against Russia. India, China, most central Asian countries are supposedly neutral but lean towards Russia because they benefit from Russia situation. Until recently Israel was neutral and the Arab states are still neutral. Southern Asia is completely neutral. The international problem children Iran and North Korea support Russia. So the majority of the world isn’t united against Russia. Unless you only consider the world to be made up of Europe, Canada, and the USA.
The only reason why Europe is united against Russia is because the NATO nations that signed the Budapest Memorandum (the USA and the UK) decided to honor the memorandum. If the USA and UK had not held firm and supported Ukraine then Kyiv would have fallen within a month or two of the invasion and Russia would be looking at the Baltics states next. The Baltic states are NATO nations so when Russia moved on them it would trigger WW3. In addition, the USA’s influence in the world would have diminished and NATO would have been marginalized. Instead, Russia has lost so much equipment and its technology has been proven to be so inferior to western equipment and NATO nations are now increasing their military strength. It will be decades before Russia can even think about moving on NATO. China’s military is based off Russian technology and training so it will take a decade or more of improved training and equipment reorganization before they would be considered on the same level as the USA or our Pacific allies.
In summary, the USA and NATO’s influence and standing has increased. Russia’s influence has decreased. WW3 has been delayed as a result of the USA and the UK honoring our commitments.
