If Starlink were turned off right now the Ukrainians would have crystal clear satellite communications going forward.
The Ukraine military says “Starlink is the main way units on the battlefield communicate.” But they must know less about it than you.

Change the analogy anyway you'd like.

The point is that given the stakes, one fellow is ready and willing to kill, and give up his life. To the other, she's little more than a roll in the hay. Choosing to fight for her will get him shot in the head. Not a great choice.

Macron was right. What the Kremlin wanted required months, if not years, of negotiations.
Wait!
Ukraine committing to abide by Minsk and standing down from NATO would take years? When Zelensky was prepared to go there in April, it wasn't going to take years.

For unsecure communication maybe. Important military information, lets just use the firing solution data used to sink the Moskva as an example, would be sent via a secure link.

Starlink is not a secured network. Luckily for the Ukrainians the Russians are so inept most military communication doesnt have to go out over an secured network.

When the Ukrainians speak to the Pentagon throughout the day its not on Starlink right.

Fair enough. I should note that I look like a skeezy French DJ who may or may not try to sell fake X to underage girls. I was also described as someone who would stalk Avril Lavigne circa 2005.

and the US should have said russia in ukraine will trigger WWIII.
You'd be good with mutually assured destruction to prevent self-determination of Russian ethnics in Donbas? Really?

No, to arrange this:
quote:

The statement added that, “if the conditions are met,” a diplomatic path should allow the organization of “a meeting at the highest level in order to define a new peace and security order in Europe.”

quote:

A negotiation which required security guarantees, which again, are not simple negotiations. The fact that Putin was negotiating in bad-faith in February directly informed the reasoning as to why the West didn't want to negotiate with Putin in April. But alas.

Let's try this again.

Sources familiar with the outages said they suddenly affected the entire frontline as it stood on September 30. “That has affected every effort of the Ukrainians to push past that front,” said one person familiar with the outages who spoke to CNN on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive conversations. “Starlink is the main way units on the battlefield have to communicate.”

I didn't ask you about a threat.

I asked if you'd be good with mutually assured destruction to prevent self-determination of Russian ethnics in Donbas?

Does Elon even know that Ukraine had leased the base at Sevastopol to Russia and Russia abused that lease.

What a twatwad.

On April 27, 2010, Russia and Ukraine ratified the Russian Ukrainian Naval Base for Gas treaty, extending the Russian Navy's lease of the Sevastopol base for 25 years after 2017 (through 2042) with an option to prolong the lease for another 5 years (through 2047).

Think this through with respect to giving in to Russian demands right now. Because you can ask the same question of Russia. Why would they use a nuclear weapon which could potentially affect people they want to annex? That doesn't strike you as odd?
