Rybar speculation on the cause of the explosion

???????? About the cause of the explosion on the Crimean bridge: analysis of materials from the site of the terrorist attack
The official investigation into the terrorist attack on the bridge across the Kerch Strait has already begun: it is likely that the first results will be announced in a while. In the meantime, we have analyzed data from open sources and tried to suggest what could have been the cause of what happened.
?? Judging by the video, the explosion was very powerful. Someone even suggested that what happened was an air strike. However, the outdoor lighting poles are not only not bent, but not even burned. The cameras on them are also intact. All this looks extremely uncharacteristic of an alleged missile attack.
??The frame shows a car leaving the explosion cloud: not only was it not thrown by the explosion, but even remained on the move. There are also no traces of scattering of striking elements, which from such a distance would not have left a living place on the machines. The tanks on the railway bridge were damaged, but not even almost crushed.
??The photo shows a span that fell into the Kerch Strait, on which there are no funnels. But the pipes with cables running along the side surfaces look torn off and as if cut.
What conclusions can be drawn?
??The nature of the damage, the absence of traces of striking elements and craters makes it possible to practically discard the version of the arrival of the rocket. A drone hit is completely unbelievable due to its small warhead.
??More believable is the detonation of the charges installed from below: this explains the tanks, cars and lighting poles that remained almost unscathed. Data from open sources do not allow us to reliably state whether these were saboteurs or naval drones.
??Detonation of a booby-trapped truck also looks like a possibility. The cumulative charge could be installed in a truck and overlaid it inside the trailer so that the directed jet would literally cut the supporting structure. This explains both the sparks caught in the frame and the bent steel beam.
Additional objective evidence from the site of the explosion is needed to more accurately determine the causes of the explosion.
But one thing is clear for sure: behind the terrorist attack, the destruction of the Russian infrastructure and the death of civilians is the Ukrainian state with its law enforcement and civilian structures.

Ukraine is really taunting Russia over this

From Russian Kotsnews Telegram

There are lots of calls on Russian Telegram for Russia to escalate by taking out Ukraine's electrical infrastructure or via other ways.

The restoration of road and rail links along the Crimean bridge in the very near future, of course, indicates that the enemy did not achieve his main goal - he did not cut off the southern grouping from supplies. But, there is no doubt that these attempts will continue.
But the restored logistics does not mean that we should not respond to an attempt to disrupt it in one of the most sensitive and symbolic places. In truth, the answers should not depend on the degree of symbolism of this or that affected object.
But this is the case when the country needs to show that we know how to hit back. Not headlong, in hysterics, but having calculated the trajectory of a retaliatory strike. Which should become a permanent process.

I listened to this every morning before duck hunting in 1999, and I hunted very single day of that season.

A month out of service ahead of winter is a really big deal.

I don’t know the layout of missile batteries in Ukraine, but one would think the functional power plants still on the grid are fortified with hundreds of SAM and anti-long-range missile batteries.
Would that be a fair assumption?

It would be logical to assume so, but I doubt Ukraine has that many SAM systems and the ones they have are more than likely guarding cities and at least some of the power plants.
I haven't heard has Ukraine totally restored power from the last Russian attack on their Electrical grid after the successful Kharkiv offensive.

It seems quite obvious that if Russia had that capability it would have done so already.
Edit included is the largest natural gas storage available to Europe. That Russia never targeted those compressor stations is beyond just stupidity

Automobile traffic has now resumed on the undamaged portion of the bridge. Rail traffic to resume within hours. Ukraine terrorists and their GAYTO masters terrorist attack has failed. The Bear has awakened.

That would be just 4 hours after the restoration of vehicular traffic

At least they left them one lane that heads out of Crimea. Ukraine sending a subtle message. We left you a path to get the hell out, I would recommend that you use it.

Just more pants-wetting.
According to a few people on here, every Ukrainian success inches us one step closer to nuclear war. It’s the Zeno’s Paradox of predictions. We keep inching closer and closer, but there still appears to be an infinite distance between us and nuclear war.

If they can do it once, they can do it again. I would be more worried about the UKR knocking out the remaining concrete piers.
