Absolutely. A lot of people on another board, don’t believe that though.

Do you think NATO’s aggression should be challenged?
There’s no such thing as NATO aggression. Putin even knows this, which is why he won’t invade Finland or the Baltics.

It seems this conflict maybe got wrapped up in the standard political tribalism everything gets wrapped up into but I’m actually unclear how the battle lines formed where they did.
Biden came out in support of Ukraine. Trumpists reflexively swung the pendulum as far as possible and started actively cheering for the other side. The fact that the other side is the Russian state isn’t particularly important to them. Though Putin being a blowhard similar to Trump certainly didn’t hurt.

1) nope, shouldn't be a factor in the decision to kill thousands of innocent people and 10's of thousands of your troops.
2) Ok, are you advocating that all of the NATO countries be attacked because of Yugo or Libya? Not following your point.

Here is the conundrum:
The Russians have already stated that Ukraine’s existence is an unacceptable threat to Russia.
Who knows why, it doesn’t make any sense.
But Putin’s mouthpieces on Russian TV have repeated the same bluster for months.
They have painted themselves into a corner. Not sure how they can reshape their position to form a coherent basis for peace negotiations.

That’s adorable. The OT is still firmly Republican/conservative. I would say easily 75%+. The PT is insane. I was skimming it a few nights ago and came across a guy who was clearly conservative, full throated Trump supporter, getting cursed like a dog for having the audacity to say that sometimes conservatives fall into similar emotion driven traps as Democrats do.
That’s it.
You bunch of snowflakes can’t handle anyone saying anything that you disagree with, at all. Even if it’s only a small fraction of the post. And the fact that you lunatics so quickly devolve into aggressive personal insults is why that board is long overdue for being cleaned up.
But the fact that you are projecting and accusing everyone else of seeking a safe space is pretty classic PT at this point, so not at all surprising. Still pathetic, though.
Nail, meet hammer.

They want Biden to talk on his face so they pull for Russia even though Biden built his policy on what Trump was doing to help Ukraine.

Links, or I am going to straight up call you out for lying.

Doing what your propose and limiting free speech is what got us to this screwed up social justice warrior cluster frick cancel culture world we are in now.
You want it cleaned up. I say take an insult like a fricking man and not a pussy calling for this place to be “cleaned up”. I’m for free speech. Liberal to Conservative you got the right. You are not for free speech. frick you.

Biden and his son's actions in Ukraine didn't help either.

I too understand why people don't want their tax dollars sent over. In this case, I don't agree with them, but so what. They are entitled to their opinion and I am to mine. I'm certainly not about to call someone vile names and insult them because they don't agree with me.
What's happened with the polarization over Ukraine, is a large portion of the Trump supporters like Putin because Trump liked Putin, and Trump's phone call with Zelensky got Trump impeached (Wrongfully). Add in the corruption of Biden, Hunter Biden, and Ukraine and you get the polarization we see today...that's my theory anyway.

#1) so Ukraine siphoning O&G at the Russian border to sell it to Western Europe isn’t something that might be a factor here?
WTF Russia literally stole a huge part of the Black Sea oil fields along with the private companies' equipment but you are bringing up some penny ante underground HDD issues.
GTFOH

#1) do you think this conflict began in Feb 2022? Do you have any idea how long this has been going on and how many lives have been lost as a result?
#2) no, I am drawing a conclusion that NATO has a history of being aggressive. Then after promising they wouldn’t build up on Russia’s border, they reverse course and accept NATO

Does Ukraine siphoning off some oil at the border fully offset the fact that Russia invaded Ukraine and stole Crimea and part of the Donbass??? Russia is clearly the aggressor here...denying that is like denying the earth is round.

Only this didn’t happen by in large. frick Putin.
Leftists, on the other hand, call anyone not blowing Zalenskyy a Putin fanboy.
I’m against being robbed by Ukraine.
This isn’t difficult.
Posted on 9/11/22 at 7:35 pm to MorgusTheMagnificent
So Ukraine deserves to be invaded because NATO allowed the Baltic states to join?..really not following whatever point you are trying to make.
To my knowledge, there was no NATO buildup in Ukraine or was there one but it was double secret and only you and Putin know about it?

USA didn’t have a very nice response when nukes were stockpiled at our doorstep. Is it really that unreasonable for Russia to have a negative reaction? Particularly after they were told this wouldn’t happen?
Posted on 9/11/22 at 7:36 pm to MorgusTheMagnificent
Well, the current WAR started in Feb 2022, prior to that Russia invaded Ukraine and took part of the Donbass and Crimea. So it really started back when Russia did that.

What nukes are you talking about, there aren't any nukes in Ukraine.

Who said otherwise?
This is a gigantic laundering operation that has yielded tens of billions in untethered money.
I feel for the innocent people of Ukraine (as opposed to those perpetrating acts of ethnic cleansing). They are truly the victims here.
