Wow
That's high

I guess all the issues up in Arkansas is making it difficult to predict this thing as well.

How in the world is Morganza not being opened even just to provide some relief.

That is terrible news and I'm not trying to be dramatic, either. That really is not good news for multiple reasons:

1. How long can the levees sustain that pressure while saturated?
2. The last week of August and first week of September is usually our time to get hurricanes. There have been many exceptions to this time frame but over the past 15 years or so it seems to be the case.

ETA: I just listened to it. Appears he said "well into the summer" not "well into September".

Now we can't go ahead and open the Morganza. Obviously the risk of flooding some camps is just far too great.

But let's not open the Morganza, you know, because of the crawfish

Those pics from Venice Marina are probably a bit deceiving, there's a hard south wind that's been blowing all week so that's pushing water inshore so I'd imagine that's mostly responsible for the water being that high.

My inlaws have a houseboat there and were down there last week, I sent them those pics to see what's up.

Not very funny since the Quad could literally be wiped away if the levee near LSU weakens and fails.

This is because the Morganza structure is unstable and it’s going to fail if they open it. Haven’t you heard?
