Several of the mothers are on FB
One is a travel ball mom
One is "oilfield strong."
One is a Bama fan.
They don't seem to be junior league types. More like typical trashy people who came into some money.
Several if not most don't live in Ruston but in outlying towns.
Didn't somebody mention a family that owned prisons?
I just hope people can remember that all of these kids didn't do the same things.
The kids that allegedly raped a classmate with an object do not deserve the same treatment as the kids that didn't act to that extreme.
Unfortunately, the kids with real clout will likely deserve more blame then they'll ultimately get, bc I could easily see a situation where the dumb redneck kid acted like a fool in order to impress the kids with clout.
You just can't prosecute somebody for being cool enough to cause a dumb redneck to frick another human being with an eiffel tower in order to sit with you and your crew at the baseball game.
Hopefully, the Dallas firm sees enough $$$$ to really dig into this. That would get the ball rolling, and this could get interesting if the ag starts send out subpoenas to snapchat, Instagram, and facebook.
Hell week might just be a big ole conspiracy.

Makes sense as why some of these accused kids including senior returning qb transferred

Thats the claim, and why we are at this point.

That’s what I don’t understand. I would be burning that place down after it happened once. I don’t understand how you let it keep going on without telling someone

I can almost guarantee you that the school knew about this and minimized it/ignored it. There is no way those events happens at school without adults getting wind of it. Also, it is certain that teacher Stephanie Viator knew about it since kids showed a PowerPoint in her class, which included a sexual battery incident, as part of a project/assignment. I am VERY curious about why she isn’t listed individually as a defendant like some of the other teachers are.
I think it is likely that the situation played out much as you have speculated. Assholes with clout were the main perpetrators, and the other redneck kids joined in to seem “cool.” Looking at just a couple of the moms’ FB accounts, some of the perpetrators look like kids who might usually be bullied themselves (overweight or not very cute). Seems like the culture of the school might have created a situation in which they joined in to discourage possible future bullying against them.
Still, all participants need strict consequences, but the ones actually using the Eiffel Tower to batter the victim should be dealt with more harshly than a kid who was in the group laughing, for example. All of it is wrong, and all those kids need their moral compasses recalibrated. A reality check with harsh consequences can help do that.

You never know what the victim is feeling. He could’ve been so embarrassed that he did not tell anyone. Hopefully all of this is not true.

It will be interesting to see how the Ruston sports talk station handles this, if they touch it at all.

I’m betting it is true. I think what you said is exactly what happened. The victim was too embarrassed to tell his family until the Hell Day occurred. Also, I suspect that if they start questioning his classmates who were not the perpetrators, they’ll find out exactly what happened. I’m curious about whether enrollment has fallen since this scandal.

I will add to the typical OT speculation and say the allegations are mostly overblown bullshite. There is at least one big fish in that list of parents- attorneys are fishing for a settlement or a big legal fight,,,they win either way.

Hopefully they can get a few of these shite heads on criminal charges and they can get their B hole wrecked in the pen for a couple years.

Well there's several big fish involved, firstly the handful of insurance companies that have been named defendants. As long as the insurance companies don't manage to wiggle their way out of it (which I do not see happening), then the parents are on the hook for their personal shite only if insurance policies don't cover the eventual settlement or jury award. Unless the insurance company(s) cross claim the parents for some reason. Which is possible. But generally speaking, the ins co's are the first line of recovery. Which is of course their purpose.

So you're saying the school's insurance company would also defend the students/parents as individuals? That seems strange but it's not my area of expertise.
