Today is the 10 month anniversary of my stroke and for the past month I've finally been able to get in organized therapy and I'm happy to say I'm making significant progress. I still have a long way to go and the therapy started much later than medically advised but that was the world we lived ... the pandemic panic.

This weekend I am in tremendous pain
I've been moving muscles and had not moved in 9 months I've been exhausting myself every time I got into therapy when they said do 20 I would say I want to do 30 .
I kept asking them to add weight and if they would offer me to rest and I'd say no . Im paying for that arrogance now
But it feels good this is finally my chance to get into the fight for my recovery and I'm grateful for that as I'm grateful to all of you for your support.

I know from reading so many other threads that there are many of us going through difficult times, acknowledging painful memories and their anniversaries.

This board is made up of some pretty good people y'all have supported me and others in difficult times

God bless you

Glad you’re steadily improving in your recovery.

2.5 years post stroke for my dad and I still see improvements if I go without seeing him for a couple weeks.

Keep up the fight.

Keep motivated and you’ll keep getting better. My father in law had a pretty significant stroke in 2015 right before my first kid was born. He missed the birth of his grandchild and he was distraught over that so he stayed motivated to heal and he kicked therapy’s arse. Of course he still has lingering affects like poor strength in that side of his body and his balance is off now but overall he did well. You’ll be fine too. Keep it up!

shitty as this thread is, it's much better than watching Winston Cup and others embarrass themselves in the tv awards show thread.

thanks,, they told me 6 mos to a year.

And that year despite all my efforts I couldnt get into therapy because of all the pandemic restrictions

so I thought I was slowly just wasting away finally at the beginning of the new year with the new administration oddly enough ,the rules relax and I've been able to get into therapy program

I hope I can break the year end date and get as well as I can get

That pain is the rewarding kind. Keep pushing, but be smart about it. Glad to hear you've gotten into a real PT program!
