Was the arson random?
I don't see how the story has anything to do with raising your children in a satisfactory environment.

I'd take the 9 that don't over the coddled kids. I am not convinced that CD is a bad person for having a criminal record or having a meltdown during hard times.
17 years ago I got a call that a very close family member was not answering the door. I rushed over, busted down the door and found them passed away. I went home to find my house had burned down to the ground. My wives car was gone but feared the worst. Thankfully she was shopping with my toddler and the only life lost was my faithful dog.
The compounding stress sent me into a mental breakdown. My wife got a hotel room but I was convinced it was arson and the guilty would return to the scene of the crime. So I waited by the rubble and proceeded to not eat or sleep for 3 days. The more time went on the more my mind broke. In the early AM hours a car stopped at the bottom of the drive and took off. I was sure the bastard that burned down my home and killed my dog had come back to see the carnage. As I chased him he threw evidence out the windows so I rammed that bastard with my truck. I vaguely remember seeing newspapers scattered about and then woke up in jail.
Great, now my family member is dead, my house is burned down, my dog is dead and I am a felon for assaulting the paper guy. Hows that for entertaining motherfricker.

That’s terrible. Sorry you went through that. I lost my father to suicide so I understand the grief. I also think he’s pulling on heartstrings to get money on gofundme.I can also recognize an addict pretty well. Dude is manipulating people for money. He has good intentions but it won’t be used for the funeral. It’s pretty obvious.

I've been a perfectly normal human being since then. Give this CD guy a break. Dude is obviously at his wits end.

Well after this incident we lived in a damn storage shed for 3 years. Point is that in spite of all that crazy shite my first born turned out better than most.

You rammed a vehicle with your truck and got a felony because the vehicle stopped and looked at your house? You had no evidence that this person was responsible and this world has many nosey gawkers in it. Very questionable decision making.

So, why did your house burn down? You leave a lit cig on your pleather recliner as you ran out?
Posted on 12/13/20 at 10:49 pm to Indiangensing
Obviously he was paranoid

I honestly doubt your definition of "better" is accurate.
