This is why you eat the drugs when the lights come on.

Pretty sure I've read that those drug sniffing dogs are wildly inaccurate and are trained to make a hit just to manufacture probable cause. Not sure how true it is, but if it is then I don't understand how the courts can, in good conscience, allow them to be used like they are. Seems like a work around our basic human rights to me.

Denver Leveritt from Evansville is easily the worst cop on that show.
Let's his dog tear up your car while he interrogates you nonstop.

Just like a lie detector test. Dogs sniffing drugs or no drugs shouldn’t be admissible in court

You can make a claim against the department. Larger well run departments will pay for damages if there is no charge against you. If it is a Boss hog department, you're probably out of luck.

I had this happened to me crossing the border coming back from Mexico in the 90s. The customs against said his dog hit, then he put a knife through all of my seats, the carpet, and my spare tire. Never had drugs in the car. I think he thought we had drugs and made the dog hit because we were 4 twenty year old males. A senior agent came over after the search, apologized, took pictures and gave me a claim form to fill out. I got a check about 6 months later.

saw one where they searched the vehicle of a known drug user... vehicle already had a busted out back window... overly anxious dog immediately jumped through the back window and cut himself and put drops of blood all through the vehicle

don't know what they did to remedy the dog blood in the vehicle

yep, its been documented that there is a physical gesture or "prompt" that tells the dog to "alert" as if he smells something.

the clearest tell is the signal, if they just sit down and look at the cop thats not something they smell, its them picking up a "tell" from the cop to alert.

when they paw at something or go crazy sniffing it then it an alert based on them smelling drugs

Just because this thug is good at hiding his drugs doesn’t mean the cops are bad.

You guys should check out Florida v Harris if you want a better understanding of the law.

Here's a wiki link.

From that link, you should be able to find the entire opinion, listen to the oral arguments, and find similar cases.

I've never researched it thoroughly, but these leos seem to have a frick ton of leeway in the training, certification, etc of these k9s. On its face, it's actually somewhat laughable.

frick yall, bc now I'm curious as to how the courts accept some of the bullshite training of a tool used to give an officer pc to dig through your shite.

I might have to start selling drug detection frogs. It'd save the taxpayers a lot of money too. Just keep your drug frog in a box on the front seat. Feed his arse a couple of flies a day.

TSLG's Frog Sniffing Certifiers, L.C.'s Frogs have a 100% Acceptable Performance Rating, because, just like your local departments, we don't keep records about false positives. Take that success rate to your local judge or old, white jury.

Order now and your department can get a Drug Sniffing Frog for the low price of $12,995.99, while supplies last, WHICH THEY WILL.

But wait; theres more. Order within the next 50 years, and your department can get 3 Drug Sniffing Frogs for the price of one! That's 3 guaranteed PC getting tools for the low price of $12,995.99.

LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS***NO ADDITIONAL TRAINING NECESSARY***DISCOUNTS FOR ENTIRE DEPARTMENT ORDERS

Limit ____ Frogs Per Order.

LOOK HERE: Sheriffs, Chiefs, and Supervisors with purchasing authority please contact us to inquire about our week long training seminar for you and your families (friends too for larger departments) in Costa Rica. Let your friends and family enjoy relaxing under the Costa Rican sun while you attend our daily training classes at Hotel Del Rey.

Don't let this be your department.

TSLG's Drug Sniffing Frogs are guaranteed to not damage a detainee's property.

Don't Wait till it's too late. Let TSLG help you turn those detainees into arrestees.

Eta: mistakes are made during live broadcast...we are not perfect like our Frogs

Asset forfeiture baw.

They don't care about getting drugs off the street, it's just a money grab by law enforcement. Why do you think law enforcement opposes any measures that would lead to legalizing cannabis. They don't want to cut off the gravy train that is asset forfeitures. It's all about the money.

It's pretty obvious when the dogs actually hit on something in the car. They either freeze on it, or start chewing at it
