Nope.

A few reasons:

They would have harvested the pectoral fins.

Also, there are no ocean currents that would carry something from the anywhere near Japan to Southeast Australia.

Also, that head is too fresh to have been carried by current from anywhere. Look how fresh that meat is behind the head.

An Orka is the most likely culprit.

The article mentions that killer whales don’t eat sharks in that manner. It says they take their organs, especially the liver. I looked it up and it’s true.

thats not how shark fin soup works. The Japanese tend to harvest just the fins and throw the rest of the stuff back.

I was saying the Japs were in Southeast Australia waters.

I agree about to pectoral fin.

I say somebody cut it because another animal taking a bite out of it would leave flesh and tissue strands.

Mako was hanging on a longline hook and eaten by many other sharks, not just one big shark.

And Sea Hoss nails it. The leader hanging out of its mouth is what we call a clue. Obviously, it was hooked and something ate it.

The sever/cut is curved like it was bitten off. If someone cut it off, it would be a straight cut down.
