Listening on the weather channel and seeing posts in other threads - can anything be done?

Evacuating was a good option

It was, but it doesn’t make it any less sad to watch people suffer like this. Too many people face hurricanes with either a false bravado to show how tough they are to face it or a naïveté to believe that it just won’t happen to my part of town.

Then it happens and you regret every moment while you’re fighting for your life

We’ll if that’s the case, it’s on them.

I don’t mean to sound rude, but if you decide to stay with a category 4 hurricane headed your direction. You’re just going to go into knowing that your life is in jeopardy.

I hope they all survive this terrible storm, but if they don’t, there’s no one to blame but themselves.

Unfortunately, some people can’t afford it as well. Right, wrong, or indifferent, some people can’t afford to evacuate and roll to a hotel.

Understood but at a minimum drive 2 hours away and just sleep in your car. Better than putting yourself in harns way, especially if you have children.

Good question. I have no answer. I only heard they are underwater. There have been a few reports of levee breaches here and there so maybe that? I’m curious to know as well

There is nothing to fail. Storms dump water on west shore of Lake.

Multiple reports through social media of families trapped in their attic and needing help out.

Make it work. Get in your car and go. If you feel like it's life threatening. Deal with the consequences later.

I don’t think that’s how hunkering down works.

If every address I've seen on Twitter asking for rescue falls within this area, SOMETHING failed. That's not rainfall.
