The chatter in L.A. is intense right now!

Jada Smith has been openly and publicly embarrassing her husband for a while...sex with others, etc. Then he gets triggered over a funny hair joke from a cool dude, commits battery in front of the world and sits there repeatedly cussing! Folks think Smith acted a thug. The strike was loud too.

Chris handled it great...hardly missed a beat!

Smith has been accompanied by a huge posse...15-20 people all night and some folks were worried they'd go after Rock, but things have calmed. Smith reportedly said he would talk to Chris and make the peace. Diddy is apparently trying to mediate.
OMG!!!

RA’ed

What kind of non-bitch gets bitch slapped on live television and stands there and does nothing?

I don’t believe it was staged because it was wildly out of line with the message in Smith’s rehearsed acceptance speech later in the program. He was planning to have his tearful woke moment but all anyone could think about was how the guy just sucker punched a brother.

Like “violence against Asians,” this will somehow be blamed on white supremacy or maybe Smith was a victim of the toxic masculinity pushed by the patriarchy.

In California, they have the PPA process where a private person can make an arrest of someone under certain conditions, even if police don’t pursue charges. Just saying Rock doesn’t have to wait for the police to act.

No self-respecting man is filing police charges over a slap.

Wanna know whos name i’d never take out of my mouth after that slap? Him or his wife. Every joke I ever made moving forward would somehow come back to them.

Hes already revealed how much it gets to him. Pick at the wound until he fully self destructs.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to think that was staged. Who signed off on assault followed by multiple f-bombs on national tv? I would like to meet that person.

This is what comedians do.

Rock couldn't do shite at the time. Smith has him by height and weight.

Also, while turning the flamethrower on the Smiths would have been understandable, I think Rock was truly shocked and was concentrating on keeping composure for the rest of his part of the program.

No. They don’t. If it’s a trailer park domestic violence call they still arrest somebody. Then the victim refuses to cooperate with the prosecution and it goes away. Then happens again.

Domestic violence is a little different. Police have to consider the safety of the victim if they don’t make an arrest. If some drunk POS just took a swing at his ole lady, the cops aren’t going to just leave him there and let them “work it out” on their own.

I have no idea if this Oscars thing was real or not. LAPD might not know either. If Chris Rock declines to pursue the matter, I’m sure LAPD has bigger fish to fry than wasting resources to determine whether a slap fight between two celebrities at an awards ceremony was real.

Did you see Jada Smith’s death stare at Chris Rock? It’s pretty obvious what happened.

What if Smith shot Rock? Does Rock get to decide if Smith is charged or not?

Either a crowd of people saw him break the law, or they didn't. Either he did, and should be arrested, or didn't, which means it has been talked aboot too much already.

DA of Los Angeles isn’t going to do anything about this.

They don’t like charging people over black on black violence out there.
