You mean the same disgusting infrastructure and trash that already hosts a high quality PGA Tour event that even had their main sponsor extend through 2029?

That one ?

Landry gave numbers, if he’s off by 60% it’s still profitable. Show me some numbers it’s not

Obviously, no one on here has the actual numbers, but I've lived in Louisiana all my life.

My guess: it will cost more and take in less than anyone on here is guessing.

You’ve been stupid all your life too, which is incredibly more relevant than the useless statement above

It could be twice as expensive and take in half of what’s estimated and still be profitable

This is a feature of Louisiana, not the vendors the state tries to bring in. It's likely why states like Texas get paid to host multiple tournaments while Louisiana has to pay to play. This isn't so much a problem with the current governor or LIV, but with the state and its populace over decades.

Sick and tired of the State spending $100+ million per year on local pet projects.

That’s the ultimate problem here with any projects like this that has nothing to do with LIV

If New Orleans tax payers want to spend go ahead. If they can pull this off with no state money go ahead

But it never sits right with me when state money on things like this is spent when it’s clear it doesn’t benefit the entire state and it’s very clear it benefits one locale only

I know I know all about how operating budgets are spent across multiple locations, but it would be more efficient and effective to do so other ways

Do you think sales taxes, amusement taxes, and economic stimulus don’t have a state portion?

You can't change the pins for $2M.

For all its worts, LA would be Mississippi without New Orleans' economic stimulus.

State tax is 4.45%. All other sales or use taxes are local/parish. So assuming $60 million in economic activity that would be $2.67 million back to the state.

So the state is paying $7 million for $2.67 million. And any other benefit will be localized.

The state is paying $7 million to get $2.7 million of just sales taxes. Plus state occupancy taxes plus payroll tax for all the work that would be done to set up the hospitality, plus the alcohol taxes on sales at the event, etc, etc

Shall I keep going, and that’s just the state piece

He needs to get the diversion project back going and quit screwing around with spending more tax payer money.

I try to avoid the news but every time I read about something involving Landry it’s something that annoys me.

Generating 60 million in revenue for Nola? Going to need to see pen and paper on that number

You already did the work, bud. You’re just unable to connect the dots.

You already posted that Nashville & Indianapolis are estimated around $20M.

LIV is trying to sign a multi-year contract with New Orleans for 3 years.

3 x $20M = $60M
