I noticed that as well and not to mention he was "closing" the valve the wrong way. My wife didn't catch it as I was shaking my head.
Also, her oldest son is an Oil and gas attorney in Denver and started a small oil company, he said a Landman would not be by the oil rig on a regular basis. He said Sheridan has combined a few jobs into BB's character. I actually like Billy Bob so I tolerate it for the most part

the valve they were trying to open looks like a plug cock style which is quarter turn to open and quarter turn to close. The valve lever is missing so they use a pipe wrench as a hammer wrench. In using it as a hammer wrench, it should have been held in place with a rope tie off, to avoid hitting a hand. An alternative would be to use a cheater bar to hold wrench while beating on it.
A further note, if you are using hammer wrenches in presence of flammable gas [not recommended]. Use brass wrenches and brass hammers. they do not spark near as much. Gas supplier had a leak in the swamp outside our property line, excavated to flange but had no brass wrenches. I sold them the set from our plant inventory for a dollar an a receipt . They fixed it, we did not shut down

Pipe wrench was on the valve stem backwards.

Beth is my least favorite character. Something about her voice and personality pisses me off.
Wholeheartedly agree, the Mom in Landman is almost to that level already. They’ve captured the male audience but I’m not sure if female viewers have anyone that they can relate to or be sold merchandise in Landman at this time.

When would it be a bad idea to report a vehicle theft?
I haven’t watched the show.

Show is decent. The need to make his high school daughter a cum guzzling whore is odd at times
I could do without the Mom and daughter drama.

The mom and the daughter are hard to watch.
Get the Mom and Beth from Yellowstone in the same room, and you’d have the biggest bitch-off in the history of television.

Nah need Deborah Barone, Jill Taylor and Carmella Soprano in there too

Is there a way to watch this without paying to stream Paramount?
My girlfriend gets it free with her Walmart subscription. It think the Walmart thing gets you free grocery delivery and expedited in-store check out. Maybe some additional perks as well.

I binge watched the series last week and found it to be a very entertaining set. I grew up around the edges of the oil field in the 60's, and left the oil patch in the year 2000. Rough necks all. Get er done. Sometimes things don't work.
There are parts of "Landman" than could be discussed at civics class, like when is reporting a vehicle theft a bad idea. Or in a shop class regarding work safety
It's a good show. Hope it comes back next year
1. It is not a good show. It is an amazing show!
2. It is coming back. It has already been approved and they start filming season 2 soon.
3. If you want to trigger an oilfield worker ask them about the show. Apparently there are some major inaccuracies regarding the oilfield.
4. If you want to trigger healthcare worker ask them about season 9. There is no way that they would put a patient in med-surg ward after heart surgery.

It's Sheridan's writing style. He has some type of complex. Every white woman under the age of 45 is either a huge whore or has a "I'm better/smarter than everyone" aura about them.

If an actual landman ever did any physical work, it would be a first. And I would fully expect the results of said work to be the same. In real life, the bald attorney sitting in the kitchen all day dealing with contracts would be the landman.

Its interesting subject matter with an average plot line with decent, albeit grossly inaccurate, cinematography (They made fricking Midland look almost attractive), all made awesome to watch by the performance of a lifetime from Billy Bob Thornton just being himself.

Wife and I will make a tourist trip to midland in the next 8 weeks. A beer and a burger at the patch may be the hi lite.

The show was what it was, I neither liked nor disliked that part. The acting and script for the characters though was god awful. Almost unwatchable in that regard

You ever been to midland or
Odessa? I would say Landman is pretty much reality
