DONALDSONVILLE, La. (WAFB) - The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is reporting a second “cluster” of COVID-19 cases at the Chateau D’Ville retirement community in Donaldsonville.
LDH officials say they discovered five cases at Chateau D’Ville Monday, March 23.
The other cluster is at the Lambeth House in New Orleans.
Officials with LDH say they are working with this Chateau D’Ville to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus infection. LDH has also requested additional assistance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

That’s so sad. The Lambeth deaths were 6 men and 3 were retired doctors.

I am assuming the workers are the ones bringing it into the home. Sad all around

Workers and/or visitors before they shut that down. Lots of ways it could get in there.

This is probably true. I attended a CMS call last week in which it was stated that the virus spread between two facilities in Washington due to one of the workers working shifts in both facilities.

Has to be a worker.

a lot of lambeth house residents are more active than you would assume. It's not a bunch of shut ins. Plenty of them leave the property regularly. All it takes is one resident to pick it up elsewhere and bring it back. The timeline of a resident first picking it up can easily stretch back before visiting was called off.

If they are all being as strict as the one my Grandpa is at then it has to be a worker, we are not allowed to drop off any food that isn’t sealed from store, no books or crossword puzzles or birthday cards.
But they are also taking in new residents (or moving them from different rooms) & feeling all the ones who can’t feed themselves together in the dining hall.
They also haven’t shut down community lemonade / water / coffee stations (as of last week).
