Lakeview is an oasis compared to other crime-infested areas of the city.

I love living here crappy streets and all. Beats having paved streets in Lower 9th while living in a warzone

damn that is scary. I lived in Lakeview 2011-2013 and I always wondered why there wasn't MORE crime.

Because it is more difficult for blacks to infiltrate or exfiltrate. You either have to cross city park by vehicle or come in off the interstate.

Uptown is target rich and you can escape back into your own neighborhood by foot in a few blocks.

As a poster mentioned earlier, likely some connection to the restaurant, perhaps current or former employee.

There really isn't a single place in NOLA worth living these days.

Buddy of mine was in there when it happened. It's looking like an employee was probably involved as well, inside job.

They have more crime there that goes unreported than any of y'all care to admit.

There was a house robbed on Argonne last week too. Two houses off of Robert E Lee.

If you don't think the place is a shithole, I don't know what to say. You live on top of one another, you can't drive anything other than a fricking Tahoe, and you come in here trying to convince yourself you got a great deal on a tear down for $300k.

lol
They heyday is over. It's a massive shithole.

Agreed

Old Metairie looks better and better with each shooting/robbery.

Yet the crime trends don't agree with you. Crime down 500% since 1998 and less than 2% of the crime in the whole city occurs in that district. I am not saying the area is perfect by any means, (look at the shite roads) but you are definitely full of it.

I never understood why citizens would willingly pay cops TWICE to do their jobs. What is the purpose of a police force if its primary job isn't to police the community to address and prevent crime?

I've long felt NOPD leadership views selling their paid details as their primary job, instead of performing the police duties for which they are paid by citizens' (property) taxes.

I understand that the people who do this kind of shite aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, but surely, you'd think that while planning the robbery one of them might say, "Hmmm, I don't know about this idea. Don't you think there's a chance someone might recognize us?"

Just found out from a neighbor who knows someone from NOPD that the two LV Harbor suspects have been arrested and are in custody.

Samuel Williams and Dominick Hayes.

Attempted armed robbery and attempted murder.

No link as of yet.
