I'm doing my bachelor party in Lake Ouachita over memorial day. About 20 of us rented a house boat and a ski boat, and are looking to camp on an island or back in a cove.

This might be a pretty specific question, but I'm curious if anyone out there has experienced camping on any of these islands or coves. Our houseboat can'ts sleep everyone and many people are content camping.

My question is:

Does anyone know of any areas of the lake that are significantly cooler/more scenic/more fun/better fishing than others? Also, if anyone has camped out there, are there flat/soft areas that are comfortable for tent camping?

I've never been and am just trying to figure out what to expect.

Prayers sent for the poor SOB's forced to camp on the snake-infested shoreline.

All the coves are pretty cool and the woodds were very thin while we were there. Should be pretty easy to camp.

Its got 7 bedrooms and sleeps 16 (double occupancy). We will also have a ski boat and pontoon boat in fleet. And about 75% of us are very experienced campers. I think we'll be good.

I did a bachelor party out there last summer.we had 2 80 foot house boats and had a blast. We brought a boat and jet ski to mess around with on the lake. We just cruised around and found cool spots.

Also, we spent the night before in Shreveport for gambling and strippers. Gotta have the bachelor party staples.

Yes many of us have also lived out west and are extremely competent in the back country.
