Cooked with a group this weekend in Lake Charles on Sat and Hackberry on Sunday. Was blown away by the devastation. Almost all the trees in neighborhoods were blown down. Reminded me of Katrina with the 7 foot “walls” of debris down the streets in front of houses. We fed about 2000 people and are planning another trip. All were very appreciative.

I was surprised by all the available cases of water. Every church, gas station and community center has pallets of water available. Some gas was available, even down in Hackberry. That was a positive sign.

I’m the old one here—SHS Class of 90. Little sister graduated in 92 and little brother graduated in 98.

It got scary pretty quick with water when they said we wouldn’t have it for weeks. Temporary restoration helped with that.

Always had a soft spot for McNeese/Lake Charles, got recruited by them in HS and loved the visit. Didn't work out for me but it made me a fan. Hope all you folks can back to normal as soon as possible.

Still a pup lol. Wife graduated a few years earlier than you from there. I opened her eyes to Gods country when she moved here with me in the Bluff. Go Broncos!

Still have lots of (her) family in Sulphur, Carlyss and Maplewood area.
