Not sure why it would be unpopular, its the truth. People who were molested are more likely to molest. Its likely has something to do with the drug use as well. Someone who has been sexually abused since a child, who is untreated, it has to be almost impossible for them to have a normal relationship.
Then you have to think about the poor uneducated mother with kids. She is a target for some of these sick fricks.. And in places like Livingston Parish, it was once a prison location when that area was part of Florida. A lot of sick shite goes on in poor rural areas.

It may be an AR5.7, a hybrid between a P90 and AR15. It shoot 5.7 X 28. It loads differently than an AR but adding an empty magazine at the bottom, spent brass collects in it.
