All these people wanting to remove statues have no proposal as to who they replace them with.
If they removed General Moutoun, my replacement vote would be for R.J. Mitte. Maybe have a statue of him at the table eating breakfast.

That's another issue. She said they would not use tax payer money but I don't think she understands how much money it's going to cost to take it down and replace it.

This stuff is sickening ! Are they going to imminent domain the plantation homes and burn those ? I'm sure no one cares but I won't spend another penny in Laffy or NOLA any time soon .

That part of Louisiana wasn't even part of the south, why should it have statues?

I never understood today's fascination with the confederacy anyway. It seems like everyone would be in favor of removing these things.
So, you believe that if you have no interest in something, nobody should?
You, sir, are a fricking idiot!

Good luck with that one. Lafayette won't pander to the idiots like New Orleans did.

A fine upstanding Confederate hero.

It was pre-civil war that he led the vigilante groups, that targeted, after the criminal element was gone, targeted the poor whites, and the free people of color. If they were found to be harboring fugitive slaves, they would often be killed

People who won't hurt the black people's feelings. Like Obama or Lil Boosie. Doesn't matter who or where they come from. Just as long as they make the black people feel good. That's all we should care about as a society.

I'm no idiot but I honestly don't see what there is to be so proud of. Can you tell me?

Lafayette used to be in New Orleans.
It was Where the Lafayette cemetery is now.
