Only a fool believes this. This will end when people stop getting offended. So it will never end. I was just reading an article today in NOLA.com about people now wanting to pull down the Andrew Jackson statue in Jackson Square.
What about the fleur de lis? Or even the American flag?
It's all a part of history, as inconvenient it is for a good part of our population. Whitewashing history reeks of fascism and needs to stop two days ago.

Honestly I don't care if that statue stays or goes. I think it's weird this white lady has so much passion about removing a statue nobody pays attention to. If there was never a controversy about the statues in New Orleans would she still be fighting this fight?
I've lived in Lafayette for 3 years and I couldn't tell you where that General Mouton Statue is. The only statues I've ever noticed in Lafayette are
the Gay Firefighter which is hilarious
and the Urns of Justice Statues which really are beautiful statues IMO
