Do those Deputies receive any sort of pay from that position?

at 22 FULL TIME marshals in Lafayette....Those tax payers are getting raped by a bunch of dumbasses sitting at the marshal's office playing Candy Crush on their damn phones with a Glock 17 on their hip.

Garber wasn't a choir boy either. That whole election made me realize how lucky we had been with Neustrom.

Something like that. He ran on an old school, no bullshite platform and won handedly a few years ago. He interpreted that win as a mandate to take things back to the Wyatt Earp days and started beating the shite out of prisoners in the chapel at the jail. Then he was allegedly caught on tape saying something along the lines of "I'll shoot that fricker right in the face" in regards to the DA or some other investigative official.

Like I said, embarrassing.

I believe the direct quote was "I'll shoot that Jew fricker right between his possum eyes" in regards to an AUSA from the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice

I would suggest a little time spent on TVLnd with 'Gunsmoke' for you, young man.

From the best I can tell with my dealings with them is that they serve warrants and make sure court runs smoothly in most places....now I can't honestly say that is the case in Lafayette, but as you can see above I have my suspicions

"Law Enforcement" is one of the most bloated public service sectors out there.....I mean if you only knew the payroll and expenditures of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office you'd be floored. Well at least as of about 5 years ago anyway.

Right, Old West Marshall's were the police then. But now we have police and sheriffs deputies and city marshal. We don't need all three. Its a waist of money.

I don't know about city court, but the parish courthouse is covered by the LPSD.
