Would that help with the field sobriety test?

I've not known anyone speaking in tongues who was subject to a field sobriety test and I've known thousands of individuals who have spoken in tongues.

No it wasn't.

What about all of those other people who were praying to Jesus that got crushed by that tornado. I guess they didn't speak the correct tongues.

What about the power which dissipated the tornado?

And i'm sure none of them just made crap up or did it for attention.

I'm a student of language. What comes out of those peoples mouths is no more language than gibberish. It's like when people try to speak fake Chinese or German

Maybe some of them did.

I speak in tongues. I'm not making it up or doing it for attention. It's been a source of spiritual power in my life for quite a while now.

This is very very disturbing to you, isn't it?

And maybe you aren't doing it consciously.

But I assure you, if I recorded you "speaking in tongues" and ran it through ANY laguage filter, or even compared it to actual fictional languages, it wouldn't match up.

Real languages with meaning have patterns. Indicators. They follow rules, even if you can't translate them or they are invented.

People "speaking in tongues", and I've witnessed it, don't follow any actual pattern. They babble. Use "words" they've heard their pastor or whoever use.

In short, it's bupkis.

I'm not doing it with any preconceived 'words' in mind. It's no different than speaking English, one doesn't think about every word and then speak the word, it simply flows from you.

Depends on what kind of tongues are being spoken. Some tongues are known languages, other tongues are "unknown tongues".

But, as I pointed out earlier, this is very very disturbing to you, as seen by your attempt to mock, insult, offend and ridicule Christians who do believe in such spiritual gifts. Your 'cartoons' were nothing more than a spiritual indicator of your fear of such practices.

That's not how "speaking" works.

If someone, even in English, just started blurting out random words with no pattern or significance, we wouldn't call it "speaking".

Apparently we're not going to agree on this.

It was clearly dissipating.

Don't answer my question with a question. That's question dodging because you likely don't have an answer that makes sense.

In other words, bullshite. Because even languages that are "unknown" can be deciphered to a point. And without meaning language means nothing.

Just think about it.

If the original intent of the "speaking in tongues" was to allow the Apostles to preach to people of different languages, that at least required the people being preached to to be able to understand that language.

Just spouting gibberish doesn't do anything to spread the gospel. False preachers do it because it's a great show and money maker.

They do have meaning in the spiritual realm.

Those are different kinds of tongues than unknown tongues.

I agree wholeheartedly there are many fakes out there.

Nice flip attempt.

But, yes it is disturbing that you convinced yourself that you're speaking a spiritual dialect while mumbling gibberish. It's easy to copy when everyone else in the Pentecostal gathering is doing it. It's regimented monkey see, monkey do.
