Stamps don't expire. They are like cash.

What if they don't think they'll ever use the mass quantity of stamps they bought and they want to get rid of them quickly for cash?

Stamps weren't found "missing" because he increased the stamp reserve from $70k to over $600k in reserves. How often are the actual stamp reserves checked except by the guy in charge of it?

He only got caught because he was moving too many, too quickly. He had $58,000 in payments in one month alone. PayPal/Ebay called USPS and said to check him out. Not even Harrah's reported him losing $220,000 in 2017.

I bet if he kept the amount to an extra $15k/month, then he would not be caught. Heck if he split up selling to eBay, craigslist, etc. and used PayPal, venmo, checks/cash, etc. for transactions, then he probably could have stayed at that $50k/month.

Well they caught him and are prosecuting him so there’s that.

After stealing over $600k and being outed by other organizations. Sad that there are no controls in place to prevent or detect this volume of theft.

Or they thought a business or person bought way too many stamps for themselves and was trying to get something for them instead of just letting them go to waste.

Stamps go to waste? They go bad? Lololol

Knew this guy. Super cool guy years ago. Got a leadership position at USPS and slowly began to change, wasn’t the same person. Then his wife was killed in a car wreck a few years back. Crazy how much a person can change and also shows never know what a person is dealing with
