How can we change the law so that we can vote for this ourselves instead of having these self-serving, corrupt politicians making judgments in "our best interests".
"We" can't in Louisiana... not directly by the people anyway. Louisiana has no such thing as signature driven voter referendum. The legislature itself would have to decide to put it to a public vote.

Fontenot has definitely been paid by the Sheriff's Association. Can't stop talking about them and wants them involved in everything.
Fontenot also introduced a bill today to make 5/15 to 5/22 designated as “Police Week” in Louisiana.
This is how our legislators spend their time.

Now they're about to vote down a bill to evaluate and remove the governor's emergency powers on a line item basis during an declared emergency.
Talk about a banner day for the LA legislature.

It needed 2/3 to impose the new tax

Did anyone see what happened with HB440? That was to impose fees for home grow and for business licenses. I was too disgusted to watch any more.

I'm sure he'll have some sort of bullshite excuse. Don't let him off the hook. Make sure you ask him how much the godamn Sheriff's Association paid him.

The only thing Wheat has done was submit a bunch of bullshite symbolic bills for a pat on the back. I need to get a hold of Steve Pugh who I know thanks to the K of C. Not sure if he endorsed Wheat or not.

The ghost of big daddy government known as Huey P Long still haunts those chambers. The capitol needs an exorcism.
