These a-holes are so disconnected they think they are there to vote via their personal beliefs (aka, how the sheriff's association paid him to vote). ?

I was told the same thing by Tony Bacala. He said bc he was formerly in law enforcement, he wouldn't vote for it.

Some of these dumbasses have taken a page straight from the Bill Cassidy playbook.

I politely reminded him it doesnt matter what he wants, it matters what his constituents want.

The problem is they actually believe the decision is theirs alone. They legitimately dont give a frick what their constituents want.

Agreed. At least fricking lie and not piss directly in our faces.

Just an update... the Senate adjourned without voting on 514 today. The legislative process is frustrating.

fricks like this need to be voted out of office. Cant give a legitimate reason to oppose it other than his personal convictions.

I'd be curious to know how many of these politicians are lining their pockets at the expense of the state economy and people's freedoms.

So was 391.

Now the tax bill is up in the House and some JACKASS (Rep Fontenot) just asked if the rep consulted with the Sheriff's Association on the tax amount and asked if it was high enough to cover "the increase in crime."

Downsides with the fuzz means they can't use pot as an excuse to steal your property to auction off anymore.

Fontenot has definitely been paid by the Sheriff's Association. Can't stop talking about them and wants them involved in everything. Why should the damn SA be involved in deciding tax allocation??

This is getting embarrassing.

No reason to even debate HB699 now. It's DOA.

Just a reminder that the House members, from their own mouths, claimed how public support for this bill had been "overwhelmingly positive".

I am pretty sure tax failure is an indicator that it's not going to pass. The "crude form" medical bill keeps getting passed over in the Senate too. Not a good sign IMO.

How can we change the law so that we can vote for this ourselves instead of having these self-serving, corrupt politicians making judgments in "our best interests".
