Wonder if the House might just say no to the amendments and kill the bill. Probably not, but it's not passed until the House approves the amendments.

Yep. 952 is scheduled for concurrence. 237 is still on there for final passage, but 952 is ahead on the docket. If it passes they'll return 237 to the calendar again.

I thought it was the opposite - that they would only mess with 237 if 952 failed? But definitely not certain.

Return to the calendar means they don't take action.

Crescent 9’ers
The Crescent 9er site says they have those at Devine Wine and Spirits Plus. There's one of those in Ruston. Will see if they're shipping them up here.

Honestly I am more than shocked this did not pass. It seemed like it would easily cruise through the House. Maybe public outrage finally won the day over lobby dollars.

It was returned to the calendar like 4 times, and the session officially ends on Monday. I may be wrong, but I believe normally no votes are called on the final day. So it may be dead for at least another year, at least on a state level. There's word now though that fedgov wants to close the loopholes from the 2018 farm bill in the 2024 farm bill, so we shall see.

They are convened and debating 952 right now.

The house just rejected the senate amendments to ban it from restaurants and bars.

ETA: They are still discussing some things. Going back to senate for conference.

Need a civics lesson. So since the House rejected the amendments it has to get bounced back to the Senate. Does it go to the full Senate or just a committee?

It's on the senate docket tomorrow as pending conference committee.

According to the Louie Louie Instagram (THC drink) 237 failed and the prohibition amendment to shut out bars and restaurants failed.

Great day for the patriots of this state who emailed, called, and fought if so.

It's been a few years since I had to dive deep on legislation, so this has been a lovely parliamentarian refresher
