Nice. I grew up on the other side of Parish Rd. Stayed in the same house from when I was born in 1980 up until I graduated in 98. We used to go to the little diner connected to KMart and eat breakfast. I was probably in those stores multiple times a week between my mom and my grandpa.

I still wear a red hooded sweatshirt that I bought from Kmart during my freshman year (1993).

Last KMart I went to was in Alliance, NE just a few years ago and it was a total ghost town. Place looked like a run down salvage store instead of how we all remember it in the 80/90s.
Most frequent I went to was in Slidell on Gause - it's now a gym and a few other shops. Always hung out in their parking lot for the mardi gras parades.

You’re a few years older than my brother then.

In pre Target days, suburban moms didn’t feel embarrassed shopping at wal mart because it was considered a step above k mart.

When I was a kid literally 99% of everything in our house other than groceries came from either Sears & Roebuck or K-Mart.
To be honest, I thought there were 0 K-Mart store left.

Yeah I am sure we know some of the same people.

Surprising it took this long. Probably speaks to older folks who don't shop online. The Roses in my town just chugs along.

We definitely know a lot of the same people. We graduated a year apart but I was at CHS.

They also had a restaurant in there and it wasn't bad.

My parents bought my first bb gun from Kmart in Vicksburg.

If you want to see the ugliest office complex I've ever seen, check out the old KMart headquarters on google maps:
3100 W Big Beaver Road
Troy, MI
That looks like a 3 story maze.

Just looked at your profile. I’m right down the road in Castle hills.

I remember my best friend growing up asking his mom where he came from and her telling him she got him on blue light special at K Mart

They should cut down to 1 store and put it in the same town that has the last Blockbuster still open.
