How old is the house? Some used oil based paint, which I think it supposed to be better for areas that receive a lot of touching. Also if you have never painted cabinets before, it might be better to hire a pro who can spray them. Cabinets look like shite when you paint them improperly, and would probably detract from any added value.

House was built in 2005 and it has the cabinets that look like the ones posted earlier but a natural color.
All of the houses built in this neighborhood have the same style and color cabinets.
We are priming them with glidden gripper and then topcoating with behr semigloss enamel. Per everyone's advice I'll go with the same off white color as the trim.

If you haven't painted yet, get some of this to add to your paint. It helps smooth out the brush strokes. We painted our cabinets about 5 years ago and this stuff was a life saver.

Yes and it needs to oil based not latex paint.

I have the stained oak cabinets like previous picture. I want to paint but was wondering if grain would show through.
