My 15 year old liked that up until she hit 10 or 11.
For me, I pour alcohol on it. Builds up character and realigns attitude.

You had it easy; my parents' choice was Mercurochrome. So not only did I get the burning sting but my daily dose of heavy metal poisoning as well. The color it stained my skin did look like a grandmother kissed my scrape with her caked-on lipstick.
It's OK they took Mercurochrome off the market... my parents go to then became Merthiolate. My parents seemed to have been dead set on driving me to madness.
