Kid's stockings left on the mantle or under the tree with presents?

What’s the point of a stocking if it’s not hanging from the mantle?

Matle is cute for decoration. Tree is functional since it's full of gifts.

we sit them up on the couches as they have lot's of stuff surrounding it like a cup being overfilled. They have separation and it kind of gives the kids a spot to put all their gifts as they open them.

That's a pretty damn good idea. Kid's don't give a shite about stockings hanging on mantles. Doubt mine even notices our mantle. She just wants its presents.

Mantle. It was like a desert after the main course of gifts under the tree, when I was a kid.
