My daughter (no pics) wears those sometimes. Never really hit me as black face, but I'm not all up in my feels about hating the white man... so...

That's because the simple act of making your face black is not blackface.
Blackface was a very specific exaggerated style of caricature makeup.
Hell, you can put on face darkening makeup and go as a specific character and that's not even blackface. That just a costume.
That's a problem today. People using words they do not know the meaning of.
