This was about 8 years ago. Things have certainly changed.
This was from about 12 or so years ago when a kid a few grades below me threatened to kill another kid with a screwdriver. They expelled him pretty instantly for that. Granted it was Private School, but they didn't put up with that.

If that really happened, it is your duty as a parent to report it to the principal and police.

The only thing to do is report it.. And you did the right thing by going to both the principal & police.
