There was a sign that said If This Race Was Easy It Would Be Called Your Mom.

Multiple Marathons and a couple of 50 and 30 milers.
No stickers. No need. Happy I know what I did.
No facebook posts about it either.

Something is insane with people who willingly run 26+ miles for the fun of it.
It only seems insane because you are too much of a pussy to do it.
Squatting 600 lbs isn't much fun either. It's about the challenge and the idea of proving what you are mentally and physically capable of accomplishing.

As a person who's never run a marathon, it honestly doesn't seem too hard . It really is just mental, both in the event and in the ability to stay focused on your training.
(I've done a half and triathlons, just never a full marathon)

Male runner has hair on his legs. Not a real runner.

I ran one half-marathon before foolishly jumping into a full.
I would never attempt that again regardless of the circumstances. I would gladly trade for three half-marathons as opposed to being subjected to another full.

I run a lot of miles per week when I'm training. I run 12-13 regularly without even being sore the next day. I fully realize it wouldn't be easy. I know it's a big jump. I put after since it was sarcasm. But I'm also not afraid of it. I planned to do one in March, but have tendonitis in my foot from switching shoes at the end of last year(may still try, but I'm only running about 8-10 miles max distance right now).

There is no fun in it.
First 10 miles are fun, next 10 are work, next 6 are miserable, last .2 are glorious.
