Tryptamine derivatives (DMT and 5-MeO-DMT) are more effective than Ketamine.

Yes did it…twice….still crazy. It’s not a cure shot and must accompany therapy…tis cost prohibitive imo

Has anyone here ever done Ketamine therapy?

It’s basically a wonder drug for treatment resistant depression and even acute suicidality as far as I’m concerned. It’s a lot more accessible to patients now that Spravato exists. It’s not the most convenient thing since you have to sit in a chair at the office for a few hours, but for many patients it’s a godsend. I definitely recommend it.

My mom has been doing the sessions after my brother committed suicide, they pulled her out of a very dark place. Not saying she doesn't still struggle with his loss but there has been very obvious improvement.

My middle adult child is getting ready to try spravato. She’ll have to have someone drive her and sit in the office for 4 hours twice a week at first.

She’s autistic with treatment resistant depression so this is kind of our Hail Mary.

I know someone who gets it twice a week for over a year now. I dont think it works and she just likes getting high. And since its with a doctor, its "ok"

Ketamine Therapy

Didn't do anything for me.

I had a friend get 5 years in jail 30 years ago for breaking into a vet's office to steal special K. Timing was never his strength.

They helped me, but were not a cure all for me. It certainly improved my treatment resistant depression, but effects would taper off by the next session (K treatment once every other week, therapy sessions in between to discuss.) It is definitely cost prohibitive, would be aware of that.

Ultimately I quit taking all my depression meds, faced my problems and life issues, began working out again, going to church, changed career paths and haven't looked back.

Didn’t Louisiana ban ketamine this past session?

I swore I read an opinion piece from a military vet begging the state to not ban it.

Did three sessions with it under a doctor's supervision. Helped me work through some deep trauma from my first marriage. I'm for it if you are struggling with PTSD or have some habits that you don't like that were born out of years of trauma/ being in a crappy relationship.
