I still have to take medication to control my ADHD and I am 30. I was diagnosed by LSU doctors after 5 years of extensive research. I guess you're smarter than those doctors.

Were you ever handcuffed (at school), or watched a class mate get handcuffed at 8 years old?

Dude...get a fricking life. Literally gave your first "billy bad arse" reply all of 2 seconds of thought before I replied. Glad it worked you up enough to come up with that scenario.

Actually in may poor areas, this is not possible.

YOu can not sent a young child to an empty home.

Moreover, there are some parents who refuse to let their teens be at home as well.

"You can not suspend them, they are not allowed to be a home alone, I work" blah blah

Not making this up, many schools have to set up essentially a babysitting center for kids serving suspension or detention. sad reality

I was diagnosed with it as a kid, but my parents said,"yeah.. He is a little boy doing little boy thing's, his dad was/is the exact same thing... So, we're just gonna let him be himself and whip his lil arse if he needs it..."

Best thing that ever happened to me was having sane parents.

You are the one saying you are gonna bust up in a school and whip a cop's arse.

You are so tough...

I grew up in a pretty strict home, my parents were very much involved in my life. So your little discipline theory is BS. Imagine never being able to fully focus or control certain impulses without medication. That would make you anxious maybe depressed? That's what these kids go through their entire lives. Strict parenting doesn't fix a chemical imbalance in your brain sir.

And yet I'm not the one saying they are gonna put a beat down on a cop... In a school... In front of children and your own kid.

Billy. fricking. Badass.

Me too...except I would be yelling at my kid wondering what the frick he did to deserve that.

That's the problem with a bunch of you frickers, you want to blame anyone except your precious little babies.

So parents that beat their kids produced offspring that thinks it's ok to beat kids?

I mean, how else would a child learn discipline and right from wrong if not through fear and under the threat of beatings, right? That's just Parenting 101.

We need to go back to the practice of throwing the weak/diseased children into "the pit".

This would certainly clean out the ADHD & all other many of current society behavioral issues. We'll all be better off.

It's insane to believe this just comes naturally for every unmedicated person. I was unfortunate to never have to study until college...figuring out my brain and how to control it took unreal measures, but with it comes maturity. I bet I stayed up all night studying 100 times, but it was an insane mix of wandering around, drawing on the chalk board, reworking problems over and over...whatever worked to purge my damn brain of errant thoughts. In the madness though there are times of intense focus and incredible insight. Medicating that away would have undermined my success, I truly believe that. My 9 yr old is wreck, but he has my wife and I to help him through it. We'll be way more creative than the 'sit down and shut up generation' that came before.

This is absolutely part of the problem, parents who don't have any control over their kids or ever discipline them in any way.
My wife is a school teacher and sees unchecked kids every day. It's an epidemic in this country.

I literally just did this to my son while having him sit down. He's 4. It's not as easy as you idiots "remember"

When, as a kid, were you touching your elbows behind your back? Please, enlighten me on what you were doing where this was common practice, enough that you remember it?

You're full of it.

I don't know what the cop should have done, I'm not a cop who works a fricking elementary school. I do know that shite would have me pissed if I was his dad.

I'd take my son home and punish him how I see for, which isn't anyone else's damn business. But before that I'd let that cop and that school know how displeased I was with their decision.
