Ashton is a good guy who has stood up for injustice directed at him and others. He doesn’t try to appease with pleasantries. He is a poet and the courts hate him because he has called out their hypocrisy without apologies or the manners they believe they deserve but do not. A true New Orleans character, his loss in the public sphere was a deep loss for the city.

I mean if it's his land and he pays taxes then it's his.
Me, I'm crazy. If someone squatted on my property I'd drive a barge into their pilings.

You’re talking about the one just east of Bonnabel?

Here’s a decent summary

I’ve never heard of the guy, but that article pains him to be a really emotionally unstable shitbag. That being said, it does sound like it’s his rightfully owned property, based on the docs he alleges to have possession of.

Timeline is wrong. Jeff Downs in Kenner didn't close until 1992, and wasn't razed until a few years after that

It was up as late as 1996. Because they had a car show there and I entered my 67 mustang. And I didn't get it until 96.

Wentwood Indians. 89-94

Wood lake gets the best players because they've long had big money behind them that get players from other areas on waivers. Back in the day Bertilino did too.

I used to ride my bike to Jefferson Downs and watch them work out the horses. Good times.

It was also where the Clydesdales used for Mardi Gras parades were temporarily stabled.

Any other Kennabrah old timers like me remember the old Sunbasket grocery store near Chateau Estates? Or the ice skating rink that was next door to it?
